Singing the responses at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in honor of the Patronal Feast at Saint Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church in Akron, Ohio, on Sunday, November 11, 2018, as well as performing at the festal banquet that followed, was the last time that ‘Kosovo’ Serbian Men's Choir sang under the hand of founding director, Dr. Rick Stevan Zivic of Cleveland, Ohio.

 Dr. Zivic has, who has retired from his dental practice this past September 20, 2018, together with his wife Mary, plans on taking up residence in Florida with occasional visits to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and Cleveland, Ohio.

Orthodox residents of the Istrian town Peroj solemnly celebrated the Patron Saint-day of their church – Saint Spiridon the Miracle Worker, Bishop of Trimituna on 25 December 2018.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by Bishops Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Heruvim of Osijek-Polje and Baranja and Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, with the concelebration of Archimandrite Naum and local clergy.

The Russian chess grandmaster, the multiple champion of the world and one of the greatest chess players of all times, received the Order of the Holy Bishop Nicholas (Velimirovic), the highest decoration of the Diocese of Valjevo, and joined it to the series of awards in his rich career and life.

The proved friend of the Serbian people, who has been an honorary citizen of Valjevo for a whole decade, received the order from His Grace Bishop Milutin of Valjevo in the Diocesan Palace on 22. December 2018.

The Anglican Community in Belgrade also this year traditionally held a Christmas mass in the chapel of Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher at the Serbian Patriarchate.

On the Eve of the feast day, 24 December 2018, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch attended the Christmas mass officiated by Reverend chaplain Robin Fox. Many believers, mostly employed in the diplomatic corps in certain embassies attended. The festal gathering was attended also by protodeacon Stevan Rapajic, long-standing head of the Patriarchal Chapel, and deacon Aleksandar Prascevic, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.

In commemoration of the 100thAnniversary of the Break Through of the Salonica Front (September 14thto 30th, 1918), which led to the ensuing liberation of Serbia and Montenegro (September 29thto November 13th, 1918), and the conclusion of the Great War November 11th, 1918),His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, has given his Archpastoral blessings for the Department of Christian Education of the Eastern American Diocese, in cooperation with the non-profit organization Art Exchange, and the Society for the Cultivation of Tradition and Culture of Valjevo, to present avisual-literary exhibit “Тamo Daleko: 1918-2018” / ”Over There, So Far Away: 1918-2018”,in all church-school congregations of the God-protected Eastern American Diocese, from September 16th, 2018 until June 16th, 2019.
