Chapel of Iveron solemnly celebrated

Patriarch Kirill consecrated the Russian Necropolis and the memorial ossuary to Russian soldiers.
On Saturday, 15 November 2014, His Holiness Kirill of Moscow and All Russia consecrated the restored Iveron Chapel, the renovated Russian necropolis and the memorial ossuary in the glory of Russian fighters killed in the First World War. The rite of consecration was attended by His Holiness Irinej, Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovac and Serbian Patriarch with many Bishops of our Holy Church, as well as the members of the high delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate which is in the three-day visit to our Church. There were many Serbian priests and monks, as well as lots of Belgraders who also in this way expressed their gratefulness for every kind of help of the Russian brothers, not only in the wars.

After the prayerful gathering in the monastery of Rakovica, the primates of the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Church with the escort went to the Serbian Patriarchate where the official talks were held.
The official talks of the primates of the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Churches were attended by members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church: Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac and Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla, as well as Bishop Irinej of Backa, Bishop Antonije of Moravica, head of the Representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow; Bishop David of Stobi and protopresbyter-stavrophor Dr. Savo Jovic, chief secretary of the Holy Synod. At the talks, on behalf of the Moscow Patriarchate, were present: Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Office for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate (DECR); Bishop Sergiy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administrative Secretariat; protopresbyters: Nikolay Balashov, DECR Vice-chairman ; Igor Jakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations; Andrei Milkin, chief of the Patriarchal Protocol Service.
Panichida to Patriarchs Dimitrije and Pavle in Rakovica

On Saturday, 15 November 2014, on the fifth anniversary of the blessed repose of Serbian Patriarch Pavle, in presence of a congregation of the faithful, who had come to welcome the primates of the Russian and Serbian Churches, the Holy Liturgy was celebrated in the monastery of Rakovica n. Belgrade.
It was so touching to see faithful from his birthplace Kuchanci, as well as from other places from East and Middle Slavonia, and, of course from other regions. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in presence of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and many bishops, priests, monks, nuns and pious people, celebrated the memorial service to Serbian Patriarchs Dimitrije and Pavle, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
On this occasion Serbian Patriarch Irinej expressed sincere gratitude to Patriarch Kirill for the prayers he offered on behalf of all the gathered and for the blessing he had brought to the Serbian people, especially on this day.

President of the Government of Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic received Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Serbian Patriarch Irinej in the evening of the 14th November, 2014.
The meeting of the Prime Minister and the two Patriarchs was in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, during which they indicated, among other matters, promoting of cooperation between the two Churches and strengthening of cooperation of the two countries. Mr. Vucic expressed gratitude to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for a donation of the Government of the Russian Federation, at the order of the President Mr. Vladimir Putin, with the aim of completion of the works for internal decoration of the Saint Sava Memorial Cathedral.

President of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic has indicated today, in conversation with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia that Christianity is facing great challenges, but the Serbian Orthodox Church has a great support in the Russian Orthodox Church, and Serbia in the Russian Federation.
Russia suffered by helping Serbia in the First World War, and one should repeat that from time to time. Russian tsar risked his state and people and entered the war for which he otherwise needed another three years of preparation, Nikolic indicated while talking about entering the Russian Empire into the Great War, when Austria-Hungary declared war to Serbia in 1914.
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia doctor honoris causa of the Belgrade University

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, who has undertaken a three-day visit to the Serbian Church, received the title of Doctor honoris causa of the Belgrade University in the Solemn hall of the Rectorate on Friday, 14 November 2014. The honorary degree was awarded at the proposal of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology.
Rector of the Belgrade University Professor Dr. Vladimir Bumbusarevic handed over the honorary degree. Dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology Professor Dr. Predrag Puzovic exposed the life and work of Patriarch Kirill, whereas His Grace Bishop Dr. Irinej Bulovic, ordinary Professor of theology, presented reasons why the Faculty of Orthodox Theology had decided to launch a proposal for Patriarch Kirill to receive the honorary degree. He said that the Patriarch became doctor honoris causa due to his overall scientific work and contribution to improvement of theological science, especially in advocating for the establishment of close links between theology as a science and the mission of the Church in society.
