The 45th anniversary of the foundation of the Diocese of Western Europe and Australia and the 20th anniversary since its reallocation of holdings and the establishment of the seat of the Diocese in Paris.

 

The parish of Saint Petka in Bondy near Paris celebrated its church slava on  October 26th 2014 with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy. His Grace Bishop Maxim of Western America officiated  the Liturgy with the concelebration of the host Bishop Luke of Western Europe and hierarchal deputy protopresbyter-stavrophor Nikola Skrbic.

On October 14, 2014, the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos – “Pokrov”, His Grace Bishop Longin, many clergy, nuns, singers, seminarians, and the faithful gathered for a day of spiritual enrichment and joy. On this day, the Slava of New Gracanica, Bishop Longin also celebrated the 15 year anniversary of his installation (by Metropolitan Amfilohije at New Gracanica) and welcomed the Serbian Clergy Brotherhood who held their annual meeting in conjunction with the Slava.

Upon the invitation of the Church-school congregation in Trieste, His Grace Bishop Andrew of Austria-Switzerland attended at the solemn reception for members of the Church-school congregation of Trieste, representatives of the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia and friends Italian in the parish hall Risto Skuljevic.

On this occasion, SCA Society Pontes – Mostovi organized an ethnic dinner, with traditional Serbian dishes. Consul General of the Republic of Serbian awarded SCAS Mostovi for unselfish help and support that it provided to the affected people in Serbia. Before this solemn reception, Bishop Andrew hold a lecture at the City pastoral centre Studium Fidei, upon the invitation of Archbishop of Trieste Mons. Giampaolo Crepaldi.

The International scientific seminar Ruler, monk and saint Stephen Nemanja – Venerable Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher and the Serbian history and culture began yesterday, on the 22nd October 2014, with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Patriarchate’s chapel.

His Holiness Irinenaeus, Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Patriarchate’s chapel of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher in Belgrade on 22 October 2014.  He was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops Joanikije, the organizer of the International scientific conference, and Arseny of Toplica. His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Raska-Prizren attended the Liturgy.

Serbian Patriarch visits Mount Athos

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irenaeus arrived to Mt. Athos on 20 October 2014.

Since Patriarch Paul as the primate of the Serbian Church did not visit Mount Athos, and that Patriarch German visited Mt. Athos in 1978, this is the first visit of the Serbian Patriarch to Mt. Athos after 35 years. According to the Athonite laws all primates of the Local Orthodox Churches when they enter the ground of Mount Athos they should visit its seat –capital town of Karyes. Patriarch Irenaeus was welcomed by protos – administrator of Mount Athos fathr Symeon from the holy monastery of Dionysiou (one-year mandate was given to representatives of the five Athonite monasteries: Saint Lavra, Saint Paul, Hilandar, Vatopedi and Dionysiou).
