The Episcopal Assembly of Oceania solemnly marked the 1,700th Anniversary of the issuance of the Edict of Milan by the Roman Emperor St Constantine the Great in 313 AD with the Pan-Orthodox celebration of Great Vespers for Feast of Sts Constantine and Helen on Monday evening, 20 May 2013.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received in separate visits Mr. Kirill Kravchenko, Director General of the Serbian Petroleum Company (NIS), and Mr. Euripides Euriviadis, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, accompanied by Mrs. Nafsika Krusti, the Ambassador of Cyprus in Serbia, on July 4th, 2013.

On the same day the Serbian Patriarch hosted for members of the folklore group at the Church congregation of Saint George in Cabramatta, Sydney.

Marking of the feast-day of Saint Prince Lazar of Kosovo and all holy martyrs of Serbia in the Diocese of Nis began with a festal Vigil celebrated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Nis at the Cathedral church of Nis. The feast-day was crowned with the Divine Liturgy and the memorial service for all who had laid their lives for the Orthodox faith and the fatherland in the church of Holy Archangels in Kondzelj. This year a special blessing and a great joy was brought by the head of our Church His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and the President of Republic of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic.

One of central events which marks seventeen centuries since the official recognition of the Christianity is the exposition “Constantine the Great and the Edic of Milan 313. The birth of Christianity in Roman provinces in the territory of Serbia”, which was opened on July 2nd at the National Museum in Belgrade. More than 180 artifacts are on display, produced since the second century A.D.
