Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church visited churches of the Moscow Kremlin and the Intercession Monastery
22. July 2013 - 9:49The Holiest Patriarch of the Serbian Church, who is in the official visit to the Russian Orthodox Church, visited on 19 July 2013, visited cathedral churches and churches of the Moscow Kremlin.
The delegation of our Church toured the Cathedral church of the Dormition of Most Holy Theotokos, church of the Archangel and the Annunciation cathedral church, where they venerated the shrines, especially the saints of Moscow – Peter, John, Philip and Hermogenes. Among the shrines of the Kremlin, to the pleasant surprise of our delegation, there were preserved frescoes of Saint Simeon and Saint Sava, as well as Holy Prince Lazar, the martyr of Kosovo – all from XV and XVI century. Hence they testify to a great respect of two local Orthodox Churches which has lasted for centuries. The delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church had an extraordinary honor to fully get to know the magnificence of the famous Kremlin palace.

July 2013 - 12:51On July 18, 2013, the Day of the Uncovering of the Relics of St. Sergius the Abbot of Radonezh, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the square at the Cathedral of the Assumption in the St. Sergius Monastery of the Trinity, where a tented alter was installed.
It was for the first time in the history of the Laura that the liturgy was celebrated in the cathedral square.

July 2013 - 12:48His Grace newly elected Bishop Atanasije of Bihac-Petrovac, with the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and as the competent bishop in charge of the army in Bosnia and Herzegovina, received a delegation of the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia Herzegovina at the Serbian Patriarchate yesterday. The delegation consists of Deputy Minister Mr. Mirko Okolic, assistant to Deputy Minister of Defence Mr. Dusko Radic and presbyters Milorad Milinkovic and Mitar Milinkovic. On this occasion they discussed actual topics from the religious life of the Orthodox faithful.
Patriarch Irinej of Serbia venerates shrines in Moscow
18. July 2013 - 19:38On July 17, 2013, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, while on a peace visit to the Russian Orthodox Church, visited shrines and holy places in Moscow.
His delegation includes Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Seaside, Bishop Longin of Nova Gracanica, Central and Western America, Bishop Irinej of Backa, Bishop Feodosije of Raska-Prizren, Archimandrite Arsenije of Zica Monastery, Prof. Archpriest Radomir Popovic of the University of Belgrade Department of Theology, Archpriest Goiko Perovic, rector of St. Peter of Cetinje’s Seminary, Protodeacon Radomir Percevic of the Cathedral Church of St. Michael in Belgrade, and Deacon Alexander Sekulic, Cabinet of the Patriarch of Serbia.
Patriarch Irinej serves the rite of thanksgiving at Saint Daniel Monastery
17. July 2013 - 14:59Immediately after his arrival to Moscow, the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej visited the Patriarchal and Synodal residence at the Saint Daniel Monastery. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia cordially welcomed the high Serbian church delegation.
Afterwards Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated the rite of thanksgiving at the church of Church of All Saints Who Shone forth in the Land of Russia during which Patriarch Kirill of Moscow was praying in the sacristy. The rite of thanksgiving was performed in attendance of the Director of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate (DECR) Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Metropolitan Pavel of Ryazan and Michailov, Chairman of the Administrative Secretariat of the Moscow Patriarchate Bishop Sergius of Solnechnogorsk, dean of the Representation of the Serbian Patriarchate in Moscow Bishop Antonije of Moravica, Secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia for the City of Moscow archpriest Vladimir Divakov, Deputy Director of the DECR archpriest Nikolay Balashov, Secretary of the DECR for inter-Orthodox relations archpriest Igor Jakimchuk, Assistant Director of the DECR protodeacon Vladimir Nazarkin as well as ambassador of Serbia to Moscow Mr. Slavenko Terzic.
