At the Patriarchal chapel of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher in Belgrade, with the blessing and in the presence of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Andrej of Remesiana celebrated yesterday, on the feast day of the Annunciation to the Most Holy Mother of God according to the Gregorian calendar, the thanksgiving service on the occasion of the Greek national holiday – Liberation day from the Turkish yoke and the remembrance of the liberation uprisings from 1821. Presbyters Panayotis Karatasios, Dimitrios Kasapis and Vladimir Vranic concelebrated to the Bishop.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated yesterday, on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the Divine Liturgy in the church of Saint Sava on Vracar, as well as the memorial service for the suffered in the 1999 NATO bombing.

On Wednesday, 20 March, a day after the inauguration of the newly elected head of the Roman Catholic Church, His Eminence Dr. Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, along with representatives of Orthodox Churches, other Christian communities and other religious dignitaries, as the representative of the Serbian Patriarchate, attended the solemn audience given by Roman Catholic Pope Francis.
