Visit of Serbian Patriarch Irinej to Diocese of Middle Europe

The Diocese of Middle Europe is awaiting a great honour and joy: from September 10-14 in Vienna, His Holiness Irinej Serbian Patriarch will visit the city with the greatest number of believers in the Diocese. He will be accompanied by His Beatitude Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid and Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa and Fotije of Dalmatia.

Heads of Alexandrian and Russian Church serve in the Church of Christ the Saviour

These days, all local media reported the fierce accusations of Mr. Muamer Zukorlic, Mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia, addressed on behalf of the Serbian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the state of Serbia and, ultimately, me personally.

What an ordinary Muslim, uninformed of the relations between the Churches and religious communities in the country, can conclude from Zukorlic's fervent statements that the Serbian Orthodox Church is some sort of a chauvinistic and extremist organization that only looks how to harm Muslims, and that I am some tyrant who lead a violence against Islamic religious education and other activities of Muslims in Serbia.

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk completes his visit to the USA

On 31 August 2010, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, who was on a working visit to the USA with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and by invitation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah of All America and Canada, met with Ms. Anne Glynn-Mackoul, a member of the World Council of Churches' Committee for Consensus and Cooperation.

Bishop Atanasije serves the Liturgy and service of prayer for the beginning of new school year at Military Academy

Formally and prayerfully end of the training of new Lieutenant of the Serbian army and start of the new teaching annual round of military high school students was marked at the Memorial Church of Saint Sava at the Vracar Plateau with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy which was served by Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, vicar of the Serbian Patriarch Irinej. On this occasion all graduates of the Military Academy gathered with their supervisors. They were led by Colonel Dr Ilija Kajtez, professor at this institution of the higher education  and Lieutenant Colonel Sasa Almazan, commander of the cadet regiment. Students of the Military high school with their supervisors were together with them.
