Feast of Icon of the Holy Mother of God of Kazan celebrated

On the feast day of the icon of the Holy Mother of God of Kazan, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia and His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the old church of St Sava in Vrachar.

Archbishop Hilarion’s book “Patriarch Kirill. His Life and World Outlook” comes out

Archbishop Hilarion's book entitled Patriarch Kirill. His Life and World Outlook in the series "Patriarchs of the Russian Church' has come out. It has been written in response to numerous requests from both church people and those who are far from the Church but who are interested in the personality of the new Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

His Holiness Kirill is a public figure. The scale of his work is unprecedented. His judgments on basic issues of today are well known to those who follow closely the life of the Church. At the same time, it has occurred to no one so far to systematize his thoughts expressed at various times, in various audiences and on various occasions. Until now there has been no detailed biography of Patriarch Kirill except for an official list of services he rendered and responsibilities he shouldered in the Church.

Eastern diocese clergy gather at Shadeland for Seminar

His Grace Bishop Mitrophan is strong and consistent in scheduling and holding clergy seminars. The topics of the seminars varied extensively through the years. Priests face a wide range of different issues and concerns in  parish life. Continuing education is a necessity and the commitment to scholarship by His Grace is reflected in the seminars.

25th Anniversary Celebration - Fair Oaks, CA

His Grace, Bishop Maxim, Fr. Stevan Kovacevic from Trebinje (Hercegovina) and Hieromonk Jovan Babic, visited the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Fair Oaks, California on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary Celebration. It was twenty-five years ago, on July 31, 1983, that the Blessing of the Cornerstone took place. Today, His Grace, fellow clergy, and parishioners participated in the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, followed by memorial service for past members.

Archbishop Hilarion visits Monastery of Dechani

On the third day of visit to the Diocese of Rashka and Prizren and Bishop Artemije His Grace Archbishop Hilarion visited along with his host the monastery of Dechani. The brotherhood of the monastery led by heugomen Teodosije, vicar of Bishop Artemije, formally welcomed his Hierarch and his high guest. The bishops did the reverence to the holy relics and the throne, the doxocology was served.

Archbishop Hilarion visits ruined and restored churches in Kosovo and Metohija

Archbishop Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's department for external church relations, on a visit to Kosovo and Metochia, together with Bishop Artemije of Rasko-Prizren and Kosovo-Metochia, came to see ruined and restored Orthodox churches there. They were accompanied by representatives of the International Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo.
