Three weeks after the primate of the Japanese Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Daniel of Tokyo and All Japan, celebrated a moleben of thanksgiving in the new Church of the “It Is Truly Meet” Icon of the Mother of God at the Monastery of St. Nicholas of Japan, the monastery experienced another great spiritual joy.

On Thursday, November 9/22, 2018, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem celebrated the 13th  Enthronement Anniversary of His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, at the glorious Throne of the Mother of Churches. For this extremely significant event in favour of the strengthening and unity of the Church of Jerusalem, there was a Doxology Service at the All-holy Church of the Resurrection.

In a letter sent to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill His Beatitude Patriarch John of Antioch thanked the Russian Orthodox Church for rendering aid to the civilian population of Syria

In his letter sent to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, His Beatitude Patriarch John X of the Great Antioch and All the East expressed his gratitude to the Russian Orthodox Church for the assistance that it gives to the people affected by the war in Syria.

The letter reads, in particular, “Remembering the sacrifice of Christ, we cannot forget or ignore the sacrifices of the great Russian nation and Russian Church, alongside the sacrifices of the Antiochian Church and her faithful on the Syrian ground. All these sacrifices have taken place, in order to save Syria and to preserve the honor and dignity of its citizens in this historical and holy part of the world; a place that has been witnessing for Christ for more than 2000 years.”

On Wednesday, November 8/21, 2018, the Patriarchate celebrated the feast of the Synaxis of Archangels Michael and Gabriel and of all the heavenly hosts in Joppa, at the Holy Monastery of the Patriarchate dedicated to Archangel Michael. The Church of the monastery had been completely destroyed by a fire and it was then rebuilt from its foundations by the Hegoumen Most Reverend Archbishop Damascene of Joppa.

On November 8, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church marked 70 years from the martyrdom of His Eminence Metropolitan Boris (Razumov) of Nevrokop who is widely venerated as a saint. October 26 also marked the 130th anniversary of his birth in the Bulgarian village of Gyavato.
