His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Celebrates Seventh Anniversary of Enthronement

On Monday, February 1, the seventh anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia, Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Patriarch Kirill was vested in the vestments worn during his enthronement in 2009.

Bulgaria's Police Donates 14th Century Silver Icon to National Museum of History

A 14th century silver icon of Jesus Christ from the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire (1185-1396) has been donated to Bulgaria’s National Museum of History in Sofia by the Bulgarian police.

The icon is a rectangular silver slab which is 6 cm long and 5 cm wide, the Museum press service has announced.

It features an image of Christ Pantocrator (Pantokrator, i.e. Almighty) sitting on a throne, with images of the Holy Mother of God (Virgin Mary) and St. John the Baptist on his sides.

Publication of “Synaxarium: Life of the Saints of the Orthodox Church”, Volume II, November-December

The latest edition of “Synaxarium: Life of the Saints of the Orthodox Church”, Volume II, November & December of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania is recently on sale at different points of sale at the churches all over the country. It is a voluminous and highly qualitative edition, with 800 pages, printed in the printing house “Resurrection” of “Nazareth” Workshop Complex. It was translated by Father Anastas Bendo and Eleni Pani and prepared for publication by Donika Shuraja. Also the consecutive volumes are in the process of translation and editing.

Promotion of the New Book by Archbishop Anastasios “Coexistence” in Athens – Greece

“Coexistence: Peace, Nature, Poverty, Terrorism, Values” is the title of the new book by Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, Anastasios. The book promotion took place on Monday, January 18, at the “Book Porch” (Stoa tou Vivliou) Hall in Athens.
