Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria kneels before Royal Doors

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria attended the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday of the Pentecost at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Hamzawi Cairo. The Patriarch kneeled before the Royal Doors of the iconostasis and read out kneeling prayers.

Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and All Africa sent a message of love to all churches and all people today while performing the Pentecost Sunday Service in the historic Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Hamzawi, where St. Nectarios lived about a century ago.

Sunday of Holy Pentecost at Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens

Kazan Street to Be Named in Honor of Old Believer Leader Avvakum in Honor of 400th Anniversary of His Birth

A new street being built in Kazan will be named in honor of Protopop Avvakum Petrov, the leader of the 17th-century Old Believer movement that led to a lasting schism in the world of Russian Orthodoxy.

The corresponding resolution was signed by the Executive Committee of the Tatarstan capital, reports the press service of the mayor of Kazan.

Archbishop of Athens: We must appreciate and respect the divine creation

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens sent his message on the occasion of World Environment Day.

As he pointed out, our Holy Church always prays to God for the preservation and protection of the environment. He reminded us through the Holy Bible that, if the man wants to live in balance, peace and health in this world, he must respect and value the environment as a divine creation, not abuse this great gift of God, but demonstrate in practice his sincere gratitude.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will be in Cappadocia on June 20, as part of his now established pilgrimage to the region for 20 years.

In particular, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied by archpriests from abroad and at home, and by members of the Patriarchal Court, will preside over the Vespers service on Saturday, June 20, at 6:00 p.m. at the Presentation of the Virgin Mary Holy Metropolitan Church in Anakou (Kaymaklı).

Churches are opened for the faithful in Constantinople

The faithful return to the churches of Constantinople and the rest of the Turkish Metropolises.

According to a statement issued by the Ecumenical Patriarchate, from next Saturday, June 6, the Holy Services will be held with the participation of the faithful, following the prescribed health care instructions (1.5 meters distance between the church members, use of antiseptics and a suitable face mask).
