Bulgarian PM to be fined for not wearing mask at famous Rila Monastery

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov faces a $172 (300 lev) fine for breaking a coronavirus-related regulation while visiting the famous St. John of Rlia Monastery on Tuesday.

Just the day before, Health Minister Kirill Ananiev ordered Bulgarians to resume wearing masks at all indoor public venues after the highest weekly rise in coronavirus infections was recorded last week.

Between June 23 – 25 2020, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate was convened for its regular meeting of the current month at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy, Geneva. On the first day, the chairmen of the synodal committees were engaged in their cooperative work. Many of the Hierarchs of the Throne in Europe were present as well.

On 21 June 2020, the Day of All the Saints Who Shone Forth in the Russian Land, the community of the Beirut representation of the Russian Orthodox Church, led by their rector, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), made a pilgrimage to the city of Zahle at the invitation of Metropolitan Anthony of Zahle and Baalbek.
