Patriarch of Serbia Irinej at the State Department
4. March 2020 - 13:41Senator Samuel Brownback, Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, with his associates, received His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, at the State Department on 3 March 2020. The meeting of the two delegations began at 3pm local time.
Since Mr. Brownback was received last year by His Holiness Patriarch at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, the meeting began with the memory of the talks that took place at the time. His Holiness, the Patriarch, outlined the views of the Serbian Orthodox Church on various topics related to the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church. He asked for a little more attention to be given to the Serbian matter. The interlocutors agreed that communication is the most important, but also that it depends on leaders from the top.
At 4 pm local time at the State Department in Washington, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej had discussions with Mr. Philip Ricker, Acting Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, as well as with his Deputy Matthew Palmer.
The meeting was held with the attendance and the participation of His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadia, member of the Holy Synod of Bishops; His Grace Bishop Irinej of East America; protonamesnik Vasilije Vranic,PhD; dean of the Cathedral Church of Saint Luke in Washington; as well as proto-deacon Damjan Bozic, PhD.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch was welcomed by Mrs. Gayle Manchin, Chair of the Commission on International Religious Freedom, with her associates, Mrs. Elizabeth Cassidy, Mrs. Keely Bakken and Mrs. Kirsten Lavery. Mrs. Nadine Maenza, Vice Chair, also participated in the telephone conversation.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriaerch was welcomed by Ambassador of the Atlantic Council Mr. Daniel Fried with associates, Mr. John Herbst and Mr. Damir Marusic. Patriarch Irinej was welcomed my Mr. Fried with welcoming words expressing his joy over the visit, which fosters co-operation with Serbia. His Holiness, the Patriarch, outlined the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church on various topics related to the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Serbian Patriarch arrived to Washington
4. March 2020 - 11:16His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, arrived to Washington, the capital of the United States of America on 2 March 2020.
His Holiness Patriarch, whose delegation consists of Bishop Irinej of East America, Bishop Jovan of Sumadia and protodeacon Damjan Bozic, was welcomed by priest Vasilije Vranic and Mr. Milan Visnjic, president of the Church Committee in Washington.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch celebrates the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in St Simeon Serbian church in North Miami on Sunday, 1 March 2020. The Patriarch was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops Jovan of Sumadija and Irinej of East America, dean of the church protopresbyter-staurophor Milan Krstic and protodeacons Damjan Bozic and Milos Zdralic.

3. March 2020 - 10:42His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia is currently in the midst of an 8-day visit to America. His itinerary includes presiding over the Church Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America and a number of parish visits.
Patriarch Irinej was formally welcome on Thursday, February 27 at the Tampa airport by Protopresbyter Milan Jovanovic and his parishioners from St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Clearwater, Florida.
