A great procession in Vienna concerning the situation in Montenegro

A procession in support to the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro was organized in Vienna on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, 8 March 2020. Icons were carried, observing an ancient custom because on this feast day victory of Orthodoxy over iconoclasm was declared. The faithful gathered at the Schwarzenbergplaz, from where they went chanting hymns thereby conveying joy along the city streets until the Heldenplatz, where some of the most significant institutions in Austria are located.
Sunday of Orthodoxy celebrated in Timisoara, Romania

On the Sunday of Orthodoxy, 8th March 2020, Their Graces Bishop Jovan of Slavonia and Bishop Lukijan of Buda officiated the Divine hierarchal Liturgy at the Cathedral of Timisoara concelebrating with priest Jovica Gacic, Diocese of Slavonija, and the clergy of the dioceses of Timisoara and Buda. The liturgical beauty was enhanced by the church choir at St. George Church from Budapest and the church choir at the Cathedral of Timisoara.

Patriarch Irinej thanked Archbishop for the blessing that the Serbian community gathers at the Greek Church in New York while the Saint Sava Cathedral is being rebuilt. The meeting, which also discussed the current state of affairs in the Orthodox world, was attended by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadia, a member of the Holy Synod of Bishops; His Grace Bishop Irinej of East America and protodeacon Damjan Bozic, Ph.D.
Serbian Patriarch visits Rabbi Arthur Schneier in New York
5. March 2020 - 13:15His Holiness Irinej, the Serbian Patriarch, visited the Appeal of Conscience Foundation in New York City on 4 March 2020.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and the delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church were welcomed by Rabbi Arthur Schneier, Director and the founder of the Foundation, who held a welcome speech. Rabbi Schneier expressed joy at the visit, which deepens co-operation with Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Out of great concern for the restoration of St. Sava Cathedral in New York and sharing pain with believers, the Serbian Patriarch Irinej headed to the construction site early in the morning. His feelings were mixed. It is a joy to see the progress on reconstruction, but also the sorrow over the ordeal that has befallen the Serbian Saint Sava Community and the parish in New York.
