The Patriarch receives Ambassador of Serbia to Ukraine

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received a newly appointed Ambassador of Serbia to Ukraine, His Excellency Aleksandar Jovanovic, in the Serbian Patriarchate on 15 January 2020.

The reception was attended by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served on 14 January 2020, on the feast day of the Saint Basil the Great, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Belgrade's Cathedral church during which he broke the slava cake of the First Belgrade Singing Society. (photо gallery).

A Bright Saturday After the Nativity in Eugene, Oregon

The Saturday after the Nativity, January 11th, 2019, was especially bright this year at the Parish of St. John the Wonderworker in Eugene.

After days of rain and dark skies, the heavens opened and sun shone forth, if only so briefly, to welcome His Grace Bishop Maxim. The radiance of the parish’s Christmas celebration was accentuated by the coming among them of their Archpastor. His Grace was driven down to Eugene from Portland by Father Vidoslav, who concelebrated together with His Grace, Father John, and Protodeacon Stephen. The Divine Liturgy was a happy expression of the fullness of unity that we share in the Eucharist, a unity most powerfully manifested by the presence of the hierarch. At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the Bishop gave the parish a word on the meaning of this festal period of Nativity and Theophany, stating that these two feasts are truly one, as there is one revelation of Christ.

Christmas in the Orthodox Archdiocese of Ohrid

His Beatitude Jovan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje, celebrated  Liturgies on the Feast of the Nativity of Christ at the Stavropegial Monastery of St. John Chrysostom in Nizepolje near Bitola.

Bishop Jakim of of Polog-Kumanovo and locum tenens of Debar-Kicevo liturgized in Ohrid, while Bishop Marko  of Bregalnica and locum tenes of Bitola worshiped in Stip.

Day and Patron Saint-day of Republika Srpska

On the occasion of the Patron Saint-day and the Day of the Republica Srpska, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Christ the Savior in Banja Luka.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops Jefrem of Banja Luka, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac and Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, as well as by Arhimandrite Seraphim, protopresbyter-staurophor Ratko Radujkovic and Vojo Balaban, protosynchelos Platon, protodeacon Radojica Zagran and deacon Zoran Djuric.
