Slava of the church of Holy Apostles in Topcider

On the feast day of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church dedicated to these saints in Topcider.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor Petar Sailovic and Djordje Trajkovic, protopresbyter Branislav Jelic, presbyters Arsenije Arsenijevic and Vukasin Milicevic, as well as deacons Aleksandar Sekulic and Nenad Idrizovic, in the prayerful presence of dean of the church presbyter Vladimir Markovic.

Serbian Patriarch receives Syrian diplomate

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch,  received His Excellency Osman Sabba, Charge d'Affaires of the Embasy of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate on 9 July 2019.

Slava Celebration in Austintown, Ohio

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church on Raccoon Rd. in Austintown, Ohio celebrated its Slava on Sunday 23 June 2019; the Sunday of All Saints.

The parish Slava is the Great Feast of Pentecost.  The Slava celebration was iconic of the call to unity with the Holy Trinity, the Church, and its people in the feast of Pentecost in three ways.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Mochammad Chandra Widya, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate on 3 July 2019.

Serbs of the Apollo Space Program Honored

On the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing of the Apollo 11 mission, the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade is organizing a series of briefings and presentations by Mr. David Vuich. Mr. Vuich is one of the seven Serbs – affectionately known as the “Serbo 7” – who helped develop the Apollo Space Program.

The “Serbo 7” Apollo Spacecraft Launch Team was comprised of Milojko “Mike” Vucelic (Director, Systems Engineering) of Garesnica, Slavonija, Danilo Bojic (Engineer, Stress Analysis) of Lipovo near Kolasin, Paul Duich (Engineer, Data Analysis) of Centerville, Iowa whose family emigrated from Mrkopolje in Lika, Milos Surbatovich (Mechanical Engineer, Docking Systems) of Niksic, Peter Galovich (Engineer, Systems Design Hudson) of Wyoming  whose family emigrated from Lika, Slavoljub “Sam” Vuich (Engineer, Electronics Systems RDT&E) of Fenj in Banat, and David Vuich (Program-Project Management) of Midland, Pennsylvania, whose family hailed from Okucani, Slavonija.
