An Orthodox church in the municipality of Visoko in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina was set on fire by unknown vandals last Sunday, suffering serious damage, reports RIA-Novosti.

Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy and the Holy Sacrament of consecration of Archimandrite Isihije (Rogic) as  Bishop of Mohacs, Vicar Bishop of the Backa Diocesan Bishop Irinej, at the Cathedral chuch of Novi Sad on Sunday, 24 June 2018.

His Holiness was concelebrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav of Czech Lands and Slovakia, Bishop Andrew of Rososan-Ostrogon, Their Eminences Metropolitans: Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Michael of Prague; Their Graces Bishops: Lukijan of Budim, Nikanor of Banat, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Ignjatije of Branicevo, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Atanasije of Milesevo, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Marko of Bregalnica, Jovan of Slavonia, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Ilarion of Timok, Arsenije of Nis, Nikodim of Dalmatia; Heruvim of Osek-Polje and Baranja, Antonije of Moravica, Kirilo of Buenos-Aires and Central America; Irinej of Backa; and Archimandrite Isihije, newly elected Bishop of Mohacs.

On the eve of the Forth Sunday after Pentecost, ,  fullness of Holy Orthodox Churchtook place in the Cathedral church of Saint George in Novi Sad on  the 10/23th of June 2018. The occasion for this solemn gathering was proclamation of Archimandrite Isihije (Rogic) as Bishop of Mohacs.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the solemn rite of the proclamation with prayerful participation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav of Czech Lands and Slovakia; Bishop Andrew of Rososan-Ostrogos, Their Eminences Metropolitans: Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Michael of Prague; Their Graces: Vasilije of Srem, Lukijan of Budim, Nikanor of Banat, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumaija, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Milutin of Valjevo, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Ilarion of Timok, Arsenije of Nis, Nikodim of Dalmatia, Heruvim of Osek-Polje and Baranja; Marko of Bregalnica, Antonije of Moravica, Irinej of Backa, retired Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla and Archimandrite Isihije, newly elected Bishop of Mohacs.

A Short Biography of Archimandrite Isihije (Rogic), Bishop electus of Mohacs

Archimandrite Isihije (Rogic) was born on November 3, 1965 in Moscow, from father Milutin and mother Jelena Rogic. He lived in Belgrade, but, due to his father's diplomatic service, spent most of his childhood and youth abroad. In addition to Moscow, he lived in Beijing in China, Rangoon in Burma, Khartoum in Sudan and in Washington DC, the United States.

He attended elementary and high school in English and Serbian. In 1985, he finished the Design High School in Belgrade and gained the title of a graphic art technician. In the period 1987-1991 he studied psychology at the University of Columbia in Washington (USA), and at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. He graduated theology at the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade in 2018.

At the very beginning of spiritual and material reconstruction of the Kovilj Monastery, n. Novi Sad, which was launched by present Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, father Ishije joined the Kovilj monastic brotherhood in 1991 as a novice, and some time later he received monastic tonsure by the hand of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Novi Sad and Backa, on the feast-day of the Presentation of the Lord in 1995. The then Bishop Porfirije of Jegar and abbot of  Kovilj monastery ordained him as hierodeacon on July 18, 1999, and a week later he was ordained as hieromonk. The dignity of Archimandrite was bestowed on him on November 21, 2014, and, at the proposal of the Abbot and Brotherhood of Kovilj, he was appointed Principal of the Kovilj monastery.

The first Sunday after the Feast of Holy Pentecost is observed by the Orthodox Church as the Sunday of All Saints. This day has been designated as a commemoration of all of the Saints, all the Righteous, the Prophets, Apostles, Martyrs, Confessors, Shepherds, Teachers, and Holy Monastics, both men and women alike, known and unknown, who have been added to the choirs of the Saints and shall be added, from the time of Adam until the end of the world, who have been perfected in piety and have glorified God by their holy lives.

Bishop Stefan will bear title of Bishop of Remesiana – The rite of consecration was performed with the participation of a great number of hierarchs of the Srbian Church – President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik with the president of the National Assembly Nedeljko Cubrilovic, along with envoy of the President of Serbia Nikola Selakovic and Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic attending –The Divine Leiturgy was also attendied by the Belgrade nuntio Luciano Suriani and Archbishop Stanislav Hocevar

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy and the solemn rite of consecration of Elected and Proclaimed, Very Venerable Archimandrite Stefan (Saric), former Principal  of the Saint Sava Cathedral in Belgrade, as Bishop of Remesiana,  who will be Vicar Bishop of Serbian Patriarch Irinej. The event took place  in the crypt of the Saint Sava Memorial Cathedral in Vracar on the third Sunday after Pentecost, on the feast-day of Holy myrrh-bearers Marta and Maria, 17 June 2018.
