His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, performed the solemn rite of proclamation of Bishop Electus of Remesiana, Archimandrite Stefan, Principal  of the Saint Sava Cathedral in Belgrade, in the Cathedral church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Belgrade, on 16 June 2018.

Beside the Primate of the holy Serbian Church, Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci and the Serbian Patriarch Irinej, following hierarchs took part in the rite of proclamation: Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Bishops: Vasilije of Srem, Nikanor of Banat, Dositej of Britain-Scandinavia, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, Milutin of Valjevo, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Arsenije of Nis, Nikodim of Dalmatia, Heruvim of Osek-Polje, Vicar Bishop Antonije of Moravica and Vicar Bishop Kirilo, Bishop Electus of Buenos Aires and South America.

Before the liturgical gathering of our hierarchs, Archimandrite Stefan accepted the will and decision of the Holy Assembly of Bishops, who at their annual regular session on 9 May 2018 was elected Vicar Bishop of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej with the title Bishop of Remesiana. After this the proclaimed, Bishop electus officiated the Vesper service.

The biography of the newly elected Vicar Bishop Stefan (Šarić) of Remesiana

Archimandrite Stefan (Saric) was born on July 29, 1978, in Jajce (Bosnia and Herzegovina), as the fourth of six children of the pious parents, father Radoslav and mother Milojka, born Majstorović; his baptismal name was Dragan.

He finished elementary school in Jajce, and since his tenth year he was a chanter and reader of his parish church. For the reason that he was religiously educated from his parents in love for her Church and the Lord, he decided to enroll St. Peter of Cetinje Theological School in Cetinje, Montenegro, which he finished in 1998. During his schooling he received scholarship of the Church Municipality of Kotor, where he during the summer holidays was a ministrant in the church of St. Luke and a member of the famous Serbian Choral Society "Jedinstvo" (Unity).

The upcoming centennial of the historic flying of the Serbian flag at the White House and President Woodrow Wilson’s Proclamation of a Day of Prayer for Serbia will be commemorated this July with a series of events in Washington, DC, the Diocese of Eastern America of the Serbian Orthodox Church announced today.

With blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej, On Sunday, June 3rd,  Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church celebrated its feast day and Slava. Holy and Divine Liturgy was served and celebrated by the Very Reverend Dragan Goronjic, Dean of the Cleveland Deanery, Very Reverend Protosingelos Sava (Medakovic) and Very Reverend Bosko Stojanovic with help of Subdeacon Mihajlo Pancoe and Michael Lonchar.

On the day when our Holy Church prayerfully celebrated Venerable Nikita the Confessor, 10 June 2018, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Cathedral church of Holy Great Martyr Demetrius in Dalj, Croatia. During the service His Holiness performed the consecration and introduced of Bishop Heruvim of Osijek-Polje and Baranja,  former abbot of the monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God.
