Holy Trinity Mission in Fairmont celebrates its slava and feast day

The Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Mission Feast Day - Slava was celebrated in Fairmont, West Virginia on Saturday, June 26, 2021. The celebration occurred on the Leave-taking of Pentecost. Holy Trinity Mission is an integral part of the Eastern American Diocese.  His Grace Bishop IRINEJ is the Diocesan Bishop. Protopresbyter Stavrophor Rade Merick is the Episcopal Deputy.

Biography of the elected Bishop of Toplica Jerotej


Archimandrite Jerotej (born Nikola Petrovic) was born on August 15, 1971 in Sremska Mitrovica, to father Jovan and mother Ljubica.

He finished elementary school in Macvanska Mitrovica, and high school in Sremska Mitrovica. After graduating from high school in 1990, he enrolled at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. He graduated from the Higher School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade in 1997. After completing his military service, he joined the bortherhood of the monastery of the Holy Archangels in Kovilj in 1998. The following year, in 1999, as a novice of the monastery of the Holy Archangels, he enrolled at the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church. During his studies, he received a monastic vow, on November 21, 2003, from His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa received a monastic name Jerotej. He graduated from the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2009.

Radio-Television of Vojvodina and its Director-General Miodrag Koprivica awarded with the Order of Saint Sava

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, awarded Dr. Miodrag Koprivica, Director-General of Radio and Television of Vojvodina, and the Public Media Institution Radio Television of Vojvodina with the highest distinction of the Church, the Order of Saint Sava.

Together with the members of the Holy Synod of Bishops, Their Graces Bishops Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Vasilije of Srem and David of Krusevac, as well as Bishop Dr. Irinej of Backa, associates and family members of Mr. Koprivica attended the apposite ceremony in the Throne Hall.

On All Saints’ Day, the missionary parish of the Holy Great Martyr Lazar of Kosovo in Honolulu, Hawaii, solemnly celebrated its feast day and the thirtieth anniversary of its existence.

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije visits the imperial city of Krusevac

On Saint Vitus Day, 28 June 2021, when the 650th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Krusevac is marked as well, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch visited the Diocese of Krusevac and the city of Krusevac on his return from Kosovo and Metohija.

He was accompanied by Their Graces Bishops Stefan of Remesiana and elected Sava of Marca and deacon Radomir Vrucinic. In front of the Lazarica church, the Patriarch and the guests were welcomed by Their Graces Bishops David of Krusevac, Pahomije of Vranje, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Dositej of Britain-Scandinavia, Ilarion of Timok, Arsenije of Nis, Jovan of Sumadija and elected Damaskin of Mohacs.

Vidovdan celebrated in the imperial city of Krusevac

The Holy Liturgy was celebrated by Bishops David of Krusevac, Pahomije of Vranje, Fotije of Zvornik and Tuzla, Dositej of Britain and Scandinavia, Ilarion of Timok and the elected Damaskin of Mohács. The Order of Saint Simeon of Myrrh was awarded to the director of the BIA, Mr. Bratislav Gasic. In the afternoon, on his return from Kosovo and Metohija, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch visited Krusevac.

On the eve of Saint  Vitus Day, when the Lazarica church celebrates its founder and protector, the Holy Great Martyr Prince Lazar, His Grace Bishop David of Krusevac served a solemn Vigil service in the prayerful presence of numerous faithful people and priests of the city of Krusevac. In front of the church, a poetic-musical triptych Crucified Kosovo - Finding of the Venerable Head of Lazar was held, which marked the beginning of the great jubilee - 650 years since the founding of the city of Krusevac. The event was attended by Their Graces Bishops David of Krusevac, Pahomije of Vranje and Ilarion of Timok, the clergy and the pious people of Krusevac.
