His Grace Bishop Siluan of Australia and New Zealand visited the Serbian Royal Laura of the Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos, on the occasion of the feast day of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

Celebration of Saint Sava of Gornji Karlovac, the Patron Saint of the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, with great joy, thanking God, the people of the city of Karlovac and the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac, together with their Primate, the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije celebrated its Patron Saint and heavenly patron Saint Sava of Gornji Karlovac. 

The solemn liturgy was officiated by His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch,  who was concelebrated by Bishop Fotije of Zvornik and Tuzla,  Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac with the clergy of the Metropolitanate of Zagreb-Ljubljana and the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac.

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the church of Saint Nicholas of Myra in Karlovac, on 17 July 2021, on the feast day of Holy Hieromartyr Sava of Gornji Karlovac

At the Holy Liturgy where the Patron Saint-day  of the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac was marked, Their Graces Bishops Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla and Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac concelebrated, who after the consecration of the slava gifts in honor and glory of the Holy Hieromartyr Sava on behalf of the clergy, monastics and the faithful thanked Patriarch Porfirije and His Grace Bishop Fotije on their visit to the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac and their prayerful contribution to the celebration of the patron saint of the suffering Diocese. - The arrival of the Patriarch is a confirmation of the unity of the Serbian Orthodox Church in this area, Bishop Gerasim pointed out.

On July 12, 2021, the Feast of The Foremost among the Apostles, Sts. Peter and Paul, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zoran Radovic, parish priest, and Protodeacon Milos Zdralic at St. George Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

On the feast of Saints Cyrus and John, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the faithful Serbian community of New York City, concelebrated by Presbyter Milan Dragovic, parish priest, and Protodeacon Milos Zdralic at St. Eleftherios Greek Orthodox Church in Manhattan.

In Memoriam: Protopresbyter-stavrophor Adam Yonitch, Jr., Lt. Col. USAFR

imageThe Very Reverend Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Adam Yonitch, Jr., Lt. Col. USAFR, 70, of Hempfield Township, reposed in the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born April 27, 1951, in Latrobe Hospital, a son of the late Adam Sr. and Irene (Bilky) Yonitch, grandson of the late Janko and Martha (Baltich) Yonitch.  He graduated from Franklin Regional Junior-Senior High School in 1970, and from St. Tikhon's Russian Orthodox Seminary in South Cannan, PA in 1975.  He also received a Master of Science in religious studies from Marywood College in Dunmore, PA.

He married his wife, Roberta Lee Bazala, on May 8, 1976, at Holy Ascension of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngwood.  He was ordained Deaconate at St. Sava Cathedral in Parma, OH by Bishop Sava, ordained to the Holy priesthood at Holy Ascension of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngwood.  He then studied under Fr. Nenad Resanovich before being assigned to his first parish.
