His Holiness Irine, Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Cathedral church in Belgrade on the feast day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, January 18th, 2017.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by the clergy of the Cathedral church. At the end of the Liturgy, Serbian Patriarch served the rite of the Great Blessing of Waters and held a sermon.

Children’s Choir in the crypt of St. Sava

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, upon the invitation of the brotherhood of the Saint Sava Cathedral, a Christmas and New Year’s Concert of the Children’s Choir “Branko” from Nis was held in the crypt of the Memorial Cathedral of Saint Sava in the district of Vracar on Sunday, 15 January 2017.

His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Toplica, Vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch, celebrated on the 13th of January2016 thanksgiving service for the last year and the service of supplications for the forthcoming New Year marked according to the Julian Calendar in the Cathedral of Saint Sava in the district of Vracar.

After the service of supplication a traditional fireworks was organized on the Saint Sava plateau.

On the feast-day of the Nativity of Christ His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje Jovan celebrated in the Stauropegial monastery of Saint John Chrysostom in Nizepolje, Bitola.

His Grace Bishop of Polog-Kumanovo and Locum Tenens of Debar-Kicevo Joakim celebrated the Holy Liturgy in Kumanovo, while His Grace Bishop of Bregalnica and Locum Tenens of Bitola Marko officiated  in Stip. It was in Skopje that His Grace Bishop of Stobi and Locum Tenens of Strumica David celeb rated the festal Divine Liturgy. Christmas liturgies were performed aso in other churches of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Ohrid as well.

The feast of the Nativity of the Christ Child was solemnly celebrated at the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Milton.

On eve of the feast, Badnje Vece, the church was filled with the faithful people who came from all over south Ontario that in joy they begin the celebration of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
