Ambassador of Hungary visits Serbian Patriarch Irinej
3. September 2014 - 14:50His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received His Excellency Mr. Oszkar Nikovitz, Ambassador of Hungary to Serbia today.
Ambassador Nikovitz made a courteous farewell visit since he had finished his mandate in the Republic of Serbia.
French Ambassador visits Serbian Patriarch
2. September 2014 - 15:35His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Mr. Francois-Xavier Deniau, Ambassador of France to Serbia, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade today.
Since the Ambassador is leaving his post in the Republic of Serbia, he made a farewell visit to the Serbian Patriarch. During the cordial and friendly meeting, His Holiness also congratulated His Excellency for the successful mandate and wished his further success.
Consecration of Bishop Arseny of Toplica
1. September 2014 - 12:18His Holiness Irenaeus, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy and the solemn rite of the consecration of Archimandrite Arseny (Glavcic) to the rank of Bishop of Toplica at the Belgrade’s Cathedral church today, on 31st August 2014.
His Holiness was concelebrated by Their Eminences Metropolitan Panteleon of Veria (Archdiocese of Athens), Metropolitan Georgios of Kitrous and Katerini (Archdiocese of Athens) and Metropolitan Porfirius of Zagreb-Ljubljana; Their Graces Bishop Irenaeus of Backa, Justin of Zica, John of Sumadia, Theodosius of Raska-Prizren, Irenaeus of Australia-New Zealand, Hilarion of Timok, Anthony of Moravica and Hieronim Bishop electus of Jegar; Very Venerable abbot of the Studenica monastery Archimandrite Tikhon as well as protopresbyters-stavrophors Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops Dr. Savo B. Jovic, dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology protopresbyter-stavrophor Predrag Puzovic, head of the Cathedral church Petar Lukic and Professor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic. The solemn rite was attended also by Their Graces Bishops Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Sergius of Middle Europe, John Bishop electus of Slavonia and retired Bishop Basil of Zvornik-Tuzla, Very Venerable Archimandrites John (Radosavljevic) and Daniel (Ljubotinja), as well as by hieromonk Dositey from the Chilandar Monastery on Mount Athos.
Proclamation of Bishop Arsenije of Toplica
1. September 2014 - 12:13The Holy Assembly of Bishops at this annual regular meeting elected Very Venerable Archimandrite Arsenije (Glavcic) Vicar Bishop of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch, with a title – Bishop of Toplica.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, officiated the solemn rite of the proclamation (Slavonic narechenie) at the Cathedral church in Belgrade, in the evening of 30th August 2014. The rite was performed in attendance of Their Eminences Metropolitan Panteleon of Veria (Archdiocese of Athens), Metropolitan Georgios of Kitrous and Katerini (Archdiocese of Athens) and Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, and Their Graces Bishops Nikanor of Banat, Justin of Zica, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadia, Milutin of Valjevo, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, Irinej of Australia and New Zealand, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Sergije of Middle Europe, Ilarion of Timok, Antonije of Moravica, Jovan Bishop electus of Slavonia, Jeronim Bishop electus of Jegar and retired Bishop Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla.
Metropolitan Hilarion visits Serbian Patriarchate
27. August 2014 - 11:45His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Department for the External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, paid a visit to the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on August 25th, 2014.
High representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church were welcomed at the airport by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Lipljan, Vicar of Serbian Patriarch, and protopresbyter Vitaly Tarasyev, head of the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade.
Hawaiian Myrrh-streaming Iveron icon Alaska visit
26. August 2014 - 10:35During the last two weeks of July the Hawaiian Myrrh Streaming Iveron Icon traveled throughout Alaska. Numerous miracles and blessings were bestowed on the faithful. Her travels by land, sea and air were marked by unusually consistent fair weather. In addition to traveling to every parish and monastic community on Kodiak Island, she traveled throughout the greater Anchorage area and the Kenai Peninsula.
