Consecration of new-elected Bishop of Toplica Arsenije (Glavcic)
26. August 2014 - 9:41The consecration of the newly-elected Bishop of Toplica will take place at the Cathedral church of Holy Archangel Michael in Belgrade on 31 August 2014. The proclamation will be performed the previous day, on August 30th.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch will celebrate the solemn Hierarchal Divine Liturgy with the concelebration of many Bishops.
Biography of new-elected Bishop of Toplica Archimandrite Arsenije (Glavcic)
The new-elected Bishop of Toplica Arseny (Glavcic), Vicar Bishop of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej, was born on March 10, 1978 in Vrsac, as Milomir Glavcic.
He finished primary school in his birthplace in 1993, and from there, upon the blessing of the then Bishop Hrizostom (Stolic) of Banat, attended the Seminary of Saint Sava in Belgrade and finished it successfully in 1998. Upon the blessing of Bishop Hrizostom, he immatriculated the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade. During his studies he attended twice the Puskin Institute in Moscow to improve his Russian, in 1999 and 2000.

Holy Transfiguration of the Lord at Cer
21. August 2014 - 15:03His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served the Holy Liturgy in the church dedicated to Saint John of Shanghai, and in the memory of the warriors of the Battle of Cer hundred years ago.
In early morning hours a great number of believers from all directions were going to the Cer mountain in order to celebrate a great feast day of the Lord - the Transfiguration, with the solemn Liturgy. The faithful welcomed the Patriarch, who came accompanied by Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac.
Reconstruction begins in Kraljevo

August 2014 - 14:33During the week of 11-16 August 2014, International Orthodox Christian Charities—IOCC, working with the Red Cross of Kraljevo and on behalf of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand of the Serbian Orthodox Church, initiated a reconstruction programme in Kraljevo, in Grdica Village. This affected local population largely consists of those exiled from their native Kosovo. In 2010 they were near devastated by the earthquake and now are attempting to rebuild their homes and lives following the spring floods of 2014.
The Court of Appeals confirmed – Archbishop Jovan remains in prison in the next three years

August 2014 - 9:00On July 17, 2014, the domestic media published the news that the Court of Appeals in Skopje had confirmed the verdict of the Court of First Instance Skopje 1, by which His Beatitude Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje is sentenced to three years of imprisonment, and the rest of the convicted Bishops, priests, monastics and faithful people of the Orthodox Ohrid Archbishopric are sentenced to conditional two years of imprisonment, if they repeat the deed for which they are accused of by the Court in the next five years.
At the same time, the Court is confiscating property of the members of the Orthodox Ohrid Archbishopric, which it decided to give to the schismatic Macedonian Orthodox Church.
Vienna: Bishop Andrej visits Metropolitan Arsenios
12. August 2014 - 12:00His Grace Bishop Andrej of Austria-Switzerland visited His Eminence Metropolitan Arsenios (Ecumenical Patriarchate) in Vienna on 11 August 2014.
Hierarchs discussed about actual topics of the Orthodox Church in this region of the Orthodox diaspora, at the Metropolitan's residence in Vienna. Metropolitan Arsenios and Bishop Andrej exchanged views on the mutual mission and cooperation. The most important topic of the talks was the cooperation at the Orthodox Episcopal Conference of Austria.
