His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received Mr. Radomir Stojanovic, president of the organization War Veterans of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Zeljko Vasiljevic, President of the Association of Disabled War Veterans of the Republic of Serbia   and Mr. Momcilo Kovacevic, legal advisor of the organization War Veterans of the Republic Serbia today, on 6 July 2013 at the Serbian Patriarchate.

Assembly of the Serbian Diaspora and of the Serbs from the region

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, attended  the solemn session of the Assembly of the Diaspora and the Serbs from the region on 5th July 2013.

Besides the Serbian Patriarch, the delegates from abroad and the region were addressed also by the President of the National Assembly Mr. Nebojsa Stefanovic and director of the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and the Serbs in the region Mrs. Slavka Draskovic. Protopresbyter-stavrophor Savo B. Jovic,  general secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops, accompanied His Holiness.

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, Their Graces Bishops Teodosije of Raska-Prizren,  member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and Jovan of Lipljan, Vicar Bishop to the Serbian Patriarch, met with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the KFOR Commander General Halbauer and about forty representatives of countries-members of the NATO at the Patriarchate of Pec on 3 July 2013. They spoke with the members of the North-Atlantic Council, the highest governing body of the NATO, about the protection of the holy shrines of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received in separate visits Mr. Kirill Kravchenko, Director General of the Serbian Petroleum Company (NIS), and Mr. Euripides Euriviadis, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, accompanied by Mrs. Nafsika Krusti, the Ambassador of Cyprus in Serbia, on July 4th, 2013.

On the same day the Serbian Patriarch hosted for members of the folklore group at the Church congregation of Saint George in Cabramatta, Sydney.

Marking of the feast-day of Saint Prince Lazar of Kosovo and all holy martyrs of Serbia in the Diocese of Nis began with a festal Vigil celebrated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Nis at the Cathedral church of Nis. The feast-day was crowned with the Divine Liturgy and the memorial service for all who had laid their lives for the Orthodox faith and the fatherland in the church of Holy Archangels in Kondzelj. This year a special blessing and a great joy was brought by the head of our Church His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and the President of Republic of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic.
