His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served yesterday, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the Cathedral church in Belgrade. The Holy Liturgy was attended by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and His Grace Vicar Bishop Andrej of Remesiana. On this occasion Bishop Atanasije blessed water of the Feast of the Cross.
Christmas celebrated in parishes of Marindol and Srpska Moravica

Also this year Christmas Eve in Marindol was prayerfully celebrated. Pious people of Marindol, Crnomlja, Metlika, Novo Mesto and Zumberak in a great number gathered in evening hours on traditional Yule log burning. After this at 17h the vesper service was served and the Christmas enclytical was read. The believers were given blessed Yule logs.
Archbishop Jovan transferred to the strictest closed section of the “Idrizovo” prison

His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje Jovan, on January 16th, in the afternoon hours, was transferred from the prison reception section to the closed section of the “Idrizovo” prison.
Although the procedure of deciding whether he should be allowed a retrial and be released free pending trial is still not finished, the prison authorities decided to put Archbishop Jovan in the section where the sanctions with strictest treatment are executed.
The sentence that Archbishop Jovan received in the court process in which he was sentenced in his absence is two years and 6 months imprisonment, which is not at all a sentence deserving the strictest closed treatment, since other prisoners, sentenced to much longer prison terms, are receiving the open, or the semi-open treatment.
Christmas Eve and Christmas at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago

Christmas Eve was solemnly celebrated at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago with local clergy officiating. On the Feast of the Nativity His Grace Bishop Longin officiated at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral church.
