Bishop Teodosije serves solemn Christmas Liturgy in Prizren

Central Christmas celebration in Kosovo and Metohija was held in Prizren, the seat of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren. The Christmas Liturgy in a restored Cathedral church of St. George was served by Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren with the concelebration of twelve priests. Today's solemn church service was attended by vice president of Serbian Government Bozidar Djelic and about 150 believers from Prizren suburbs.

Light of the Yule log – light of Bethlehem night

The Christmas Eve in Belgrade was solemnly celebrated at the plateau in front of the St. Sava Memorial Cathedral on Vracar, where after the feast day's vigil service, which was served by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the Yule log was placed on fire in the presence of lmany pious believers.

Ethronement ceremony of newly-elected Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren in Prizren

Today the newly-elected Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren was formally enthroned. The Divine Liturgy was served by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch the newly-reconstructed St George's Cathedral church with the concelebration of 14 bishops of the SOC and more that 70 priests from many dioceses. Many Bishops of the SOC and other local Churches sent their postcards regarding this act which represents for sure one of the most important events in the new history of Kosovo and Metohija. 

Central Church Council holds Annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Central Church Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America was held at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago December 10-11, 2010. The host for this year's meeting was His Grace Bishop Longin in has capacity as deputy for the Administrator of the Libertyville-Chicago Metropolitanate, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, together with the clergy and church board of the Cathedral. The Central Council is composed of the diocesan bishops and clergy and lay representatives from each of the dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church in this hemisphere.
