A Blessed Sunday at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral

Sunday, December 2, 2018 marked the beginning of the Nativity Fast-Advent season.
Our Cathedral was blessed with the presence of His Grace Irinej, Bishop of the Eastern American Diocese, who joyously celebrated the Divine Liturgy, and concelebrated by Cathedral Dean Fr. Darko Spasojevic, Fr. Dobrivoje Milunovic and Deacon Theodore Sokolovic, with the participation of our former Cathedral dean, Fr. Uros Ocokoljich and Father Nikolaj Kostur. The choral responses by the S.S.S. Branko Radichevich were beautiful, leading our faithful to “lay aside all earthly cares”.

On Sunday, November 25th, the parish of St. Simeon in Las Vegas hosted honored guests, the bishop of Western America Bishop Maxim, Bishop Longin of New Gracanica, a large number of priests, professor of the University of Belgrade Dr. Miloš Ković, the representative of Republic of Srpska Mrs. Drina Vlastelić Rajić, and a large number of parishioners and guests from other parishes.
St. Archangel Michael Parish Celebrates Patron Saint-day

The Parish Church of Holy Archangel Michael in Saratoga this year celebrated its Patron Saint a few days before the real Feast on 18 November 2018.
The presence of numerous parishioners and guests, both in our chapel at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy served by His Grace our Bishop Maxim and the nearby priests, and at a ceremonial banquet in the church hall.

President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic discussed with His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, who was accompanied by the Principal of Saint Sava Cathedral, Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, the head of the project of mosaics creation academician Manana Popov and chief artist of the mosaics in Saint Sava Cathedral Nikolay Muhinabout the progress of works on decorating the national church of the Serbian people.
Belgrade, November 13th, 2018 - The two of them agree that the year of 2019 is of great significance for strengthening Serbian national spiritual and cultural identity and that the celebration of the 800th anniversary of autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church is a jubilee to which special attention should be paid. President Vucic emphasizes that on that occasion the Republic of Serbia would help complete the decoration works on the Cathedral so that it would be decorated with most spacious mosaics in the world.

On the feast-day of Holy Archangel Michael, 21 November 2018, the Patron Saint-day (slava) of the chapel of Holy Archangel Michael was solemnly celebrated in the Air Force and Air Defense Command.
His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, Vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Holy Liturgy with the concelebration of military chaplains Vladimir Blagojevic, Nemanja Petrovic and protodeacon Zoran Nikolic, in presence of Chief of the Air Staff Major General Dusko Zarkovic, Chief of the Air Force and Air Defense Staff Brigadier General Aleksandar Bjelic and members of the AF and AD Staff.
