Proclamation of Archimandrite Jerotej (Petrovic) for Bishop of Toplica

July 2021 - 21:26After the election for Vicar of His Holiness Porfirije, Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci and Serbian Patriarch, in an old Belgrade's Cathedral church of Saint Michael the Archangel, the rite of proclamation of High Venerable Archimandrite Jerotej for Bishop of Toplica was performed on 3 July 2021.
The solemn rote was offiated by His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, in a prayerful presence of His Beatitude Jovan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje, and Their Graces bishops: Lavrentije of Sabac, Lukijan of Budim, Nikanor of Banat, Irinej of Backa, Dositej of Britain and Scandinavia, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Atanasije of Mileseva, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, David of Krusevac, Ilarion of Timok, Arsenije of Nis, Siluan of Australia-New Zealand, Heruvim of Osek-Polje and Baranja, Isihije of Valjevo, Stefan of Remesiana, David of Stobi and retired Georgije of Canada.
Biography of the elected Bishop of Toplica Jerotej

Archimandrite Jerotej (born Nikola Petrovic) was born on August 15, 1971 in Sremska Mitrovica, to father Jovan and mother Ljubica.
He finished elementary school in Macvanska Mitrovica, and high school in Sremska Mitrovica. After graduating from high school in 1990, he enrolled at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. He graduated from the Higher School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade in 1997. After completing his military service, he joined the bortherhood of the monastery of the Holy Archangels in Kovilj in 1998. The following year, in 1999, as a novice of the monastery of the Holy Archangels, he enrolled at the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church. During his studies, he received a monastic vow, on November 21, 2003, from His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa received a monastic name Jerotej. He graduated from the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2009.

4. July 2021 - 9:42His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received His Grace Bishop Siluan of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on July 2, 2021.
Bishop Siluan conveyed to Patriarch Porphyry prayer congratulations and greetings from the clergy, monks and faithful of the Australian-New Zealand Metropolitan on the occasion of the election of His Holiness as the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church and introduced His Holiness to the most important strategic educational project of the Serbian Church on the Fifth Continent.
The Patriarch receives Ambassadors of Serbia, Marocco and Kongo

July 2021 - 22:40On July 1, 2021, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch received the newly appointed ambassadors of the Republic of Serbia to the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Radovan Stojanovic; to the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Ivan Bauer; and to the Democratic Republic of Congo Professor Miroljub Jevtic.
Serbian Patriarch Porfirije during the audience talked with the newly appointed ambassadors of the Republic of Serbia to Syria, Morocco and Congo about deepening cooperation between states, peoples, churches and religious communities at all levels, considering that the Serbian Orthodox Church nurtures a centuries-old tradition of open and sincere interfaith dialogue.
Vidovan Celebration in New York

July 2021 - 11:04On June 28, 2021, the Feast of Vidovdan, St. Vitus Day, and the commemoration of the Holy Prophet Amos, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the faithful Serbian community of New York City, concelebrated by Presbyter Milan Dragovic, parish priest, and Protodeacon Milos Zdralic at St. Eleftherios Greek Orthodox Church in Manhattan.
