Bishop Joanikije:The content of the Fundamental Agreement will be known after signing

His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic and the Administrator of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral announced that the content of the Fundamental Agreement between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the state of Montenegro will be known to the public when it is signed.

Bishop Joanikije explained in an interview with Vijesti TV Station that the same procedure was followed when concluding agreements with other churches and religious communities.

Solemn welcome of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije in Nis

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch arrived in the first official visit to the Diocese of Nis since his election as the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in the afternoon on 23 April 2021. 

A great spiritual joy in the God-saved Diocese of Nis was announced by the bells from the Cathedral church when His Holiness Patriarch was greeted by His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Nis, together with His Grace Bishop Ilarion of Timok, the clergy and the pious faithful people of the Diocese of Nis.

Bishop Arsenije of Nis attended the military exercise „Response 2021“ at Pasuljanske Livade

His Grace Arsenije, Bishop of Nis and to the Forces, attended joint tactical exercise "Response 2021" at Pasuljanske Livade.

His Grace visited also the worship space in field conditions, which was organized by the military chaplain of the 3rd Brigade, Lieutenant Ivan Ganic, and with the assistant from the 31st Infantry Battalion, senior sergeant of the first class Milan Cvetkovic, in order to fulfill the religious needs of the participants in the military exercise.

The Diocesan Council held a session in Zagreb

The Patriarch in Zagreb celebrated the second great Vigil service, when he read Akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God.

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, the administrator fo the Diocese of Zagreb-Ljubljana served a prayer of supplication in the Cathedral church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zagreb before the regular annual session of the Diocesan Council.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill meets Serbian minister of foreign affairs

On April 16, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with Serbia’s minister of foreign affairs Nikola Selaković, at the patriarchal and synodal residence in the St. Daniel Monastery.

They were joined by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations (DECR) and Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, DECR vice-chairman.
