Slava of the church in Lazarevici

November 2011 - 16:00In Lazarevici, a village near Herzeg Novi, in the church of St. George the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served on the occasion of the church slava - the Restoration of the church of St. George. The Liturgy was attended by a representative of the local government of Herzeg Novi. The Holy Liturgy was served by archimandrite Marko Kalanj with the concelebration of presbyter Vladan Pantelic, presbyter Spiro ZIvkovic and presbyter Nebojsa Vulovic. According to the custom, same as before, there was a procession around a church which was followed by cutting of slava cake.
Annual pilgrimage to Serbia and Lika 2011
22. November 2011 - 11:38A group of seven American Serbs led by Father Aleksandar Bugarin from Kansas City made a pilgrimage to the "Old Country" from October 10 - 21, 2011. The main reason for the pilgrimage was to spiritually enrich the pilgrims and for them to see the country of their origin and meet some "relatives" for the first time.The group visited the most important middle ages monasteries in Serbia, experienced great Serbian hospitality and tasted the best food ever. In Lika, the province their grandparents came from to the US, they met some of their "relatives" for the first time. They attended Divine Liturgy in Plaski; the church where their ancestors were baptized. They visited the surrounding villages and walked the same paths as their ancestors had before them. In Plaski, Lika we met the families: Skorupan, Latas, Kraguljac and Dokmanovic, relatives of the pilgrims.
KFOR Commander at the Patriarchate of Pec

Patriarch Irinej served Divine Liturgy in a newly-built church of St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming in New Belgrade
18. November 2011 - 14:28On Sunday, November 13, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served with the priests and deacons of the brotherhood of the Cathedral church in Belgrade, the Divine Liturgy in a newly-built church devoted to St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming.
This church is located in New Belgrade, near the building of the Government of Serbia and a modern centre under construction, and which will be a hothouse of spiritual culture and art.
