The exhibition ‘Kosovo and Metohia – Endowments and Gifts’ is opened at the Gallery of Frescoes. It represents а collection of the National Museum in Belgrade

The aim of this well-organized exhibition was to present the public in more direct way the Serbian national heritage in Kosovo and Metohia,  a source of spiritual, cultural, economic and social progress of our people.

New York: Hilandar – Heritage and Restoration

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Mitrophan, the exhibition “Hilandar – Heritage and Restoration” was solemnly opened on 9 February 2013. The exhibition is co-organized by the Cathedral Church of Saint Sava in New York and the Foundation of the Holy Monastery of Hilandar from Belgrade and will be opened until 5 May 2013 at the parish house of Saint Sava church on Manhattan  (15W 25th Street).

“Bear Ye One Another's Burdens”

“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2). It is these words of Apostle Paul that well describe a recent event in Chicago. 

On Sunday, February 10, 2013, in Chicago, a benefit concert of liturgical music took place at Holy Resurrection Cathedral of the Serbian Orthodox Church to benefit Peter Gudkov.

Thirty-seven-year-old Peter Gudkov, family man, father of two daughters, singer and soloist of Sretensky Monastery Mens’ Choir of Moscow, fell gravely ill and is in need of a bone-marrow transplant, which will cost over $150,000. Participating in the event were the Archbishop’s Choir of Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral in Chicago, IL, under the direction of Michael Gill, and the Branko Radicevic Serbian Cathedral Choir under Elizaveta Neskova. The concert was blessed by His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland, by the initiative of parishioners and singers of Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral and the support of their Serbian Orthodox brothers and sisters. Present at the concert were His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica (Serbian Orthodox Church), His Grace Bishop Nicolae (Romanian Orthodox Church) and Serbian Consul General Desko Nikitovic in Chicago. 

Christianity in Niš Throughout Centuries

The exhibition entitled Christianity in Niš throughout Centuries was opened at the Synagogue gallery in Niš on 10 January 2013. Besides the high dignitaries of the city of Niš, there was also present His Grace Bishop Jovan of Niš, who delivered the welcome speech.

Thessaloniki declares 2013 the Year of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Enlighteners of the Slavs

The year 2013 in Thessaloniki, Greece will be devoted to Saints Cyril and Methodius, Enlighteners of the Slavic nations, reports "Romfeya."  The decision to celebrate the memory of the enlighteners of the Slavs in their native city was made in connection with the 1150th anniversary of their chief missionary feat - making the first Slavic alphabet in 863.

A large international symposium is planned to be held in Thessaloniki  -- probably in the second quarter of 2013.  Paralleling the  Symposium Thessaloniki 's Municipality is planning to organize an exhibition about the missionary work of the Thessalonican brothers and their era. The exhibition is expected to last until 2014; not only residents of Greece, but also those of countries visited by the missionary brothers, Enlighteners of the Slavs,: Serbia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and Russia will have a chance to become acquainted with the exhibit.
