500th Anniversary of the Reformation: Legacy and Challenges

The student government of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of Belgrade, in partnership with the Evangelical Union of Students, organized a debate titled, “500th Anniversary of the Reformation: Legacy and Challenges.” Students had the opportunity to hear from Church historian Dr. George Hancock and from Dr. Roland Werner, a well-known Protestant theologian, philologist and philosopher, who has written over forty books.

Protection of Holy Sites and Worship Places in Europe and the Middle East

In the run up to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, European churches are urging the European institutions to increase their efforts to ensure respect and protection of places of worship and holy sites, both in the EU law and in the Common Foreign and Security Policy.

These church leaders were participants of a conference organised by the Conference or European Churches and the Church of Cyprus, in Nicosia, Cyprus, from 9-10 November.

The Church of St. Saviour’s on Mount Zion is renovated and looks splendid. Last Saturday, October 28, Vespers were celebrated in St. Saviour’s, and the images in the church were anointed by His Beatitude Archbishop-Patriarch Nourhan Manougian of Jerusalem.
