More than 1,000 alumni and friends of Fordham attended the black-tie affair at the New York Hilton Midtown—a new venue for the dinner and a hotel that has hosted every U.S. president since John F. Kennedy. Among the many Orthodox Christian dignitaries were His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America (Greek Orthodox Archdiocese), and His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America (Serbian Orthodox Church), a member of the Advisory Council of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center at Fordham. Also present were the Co-Directors of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center, Professors of Theology, Dr. Aristotle Papanikolaou, Archbishop Demetrios Chair in Orthodox Theology and Culture, and Dr. George Demacopoulos, Fr. John Meyendorff & Patterson Family Chair of Orthodox Christian Studies.

24. March 2019 - 10:21The state ceremony of marking the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the NATO bombardment this year will be held in Nis, the city of great suffering during the NATO aggression in 1999.
The memorial service to the suffered in the NATO aggression, which will be served by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch will be attended by the whole state leadership headed by President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic as well as the highest representatives of the Republic of Srpska. The attacks of the NATO alliance which began pn 24 March 1999 lasted for 11 weeks and during them, according to estimates of different sources, between 1200 and 2500 died, while infrastructure, businesses, schools, medical institutions, media outlets, religious buildings, and cultural monuments were damaged.

Serbian Orthodox Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana visited the President of the Government of Republic of Croatia Mr. Andrej Plenkovic at Banski Dvori in Zagreb on 18 March 2019.
Prime Minister Plenkovic and Metropolitan Porfirije expressed a desire to continue dialogue and partnership between representatives of the Government and State institutions with representatives of Churches and religious communities in Croatia.
