September 2021 - 15:45In a friendly conversation I initiated, the great director Lordan Zafranović presented to Maja Gojkovic, the Minister of Culture, and me a new version of the script of the film about the suffering in the Jasenovac camp, based on the text by Arsen Diklic "Children of Kozara". The realization of the film about the suffering of the innocent in Jasenovac, and especially the children, should be helped by everyone who has the opportunity. The theme of absolute evil, which manifestation is the camp in Jasenovac, is one of the eternal artistic themes that will never be completely exhausted.
Consecration of Archimandrite Damaskin for Bishop of Mohacs

September 2021 - 15:38At the regular spring session, held in Belgrade from May 24 to 29, 2021, the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church elected Archimandrite Damaskin (Grabez), superior of the monastery of St. Roman in Djunis, the vicar of the Bishop of Backa, with the title Bishop of Mohacs.
The consecration of the elected Bishop of Mohacs will be performed on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in the Cathedral of St. Sava in Belgrade, starting at 9 am, during t the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy, which will be served by His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch with archbishops and clergy. The previous day, on Saturday, September 18, a solemn evening service will be held with the rite of the proclamation of the elected Bishop, in the old Cathedral of the Holy Archangel Michael in Belgrade, starting at 6 pm.

September 2021 - 21:40His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy and the solemn rite of consecration of the elected and proclaimed High Venerable Archimandrite Justin (Jeremic) to the rank of Bishop of Hvosno, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, at the Cathedral church of Saint Sava in the Vracar district, on 12 September 2021.

We pray for all people and that Jasenovac never happens again to anyone, anywhere.
On the occasion of 80th anniversary since the founding of the system of concentration camps in Jasenovac, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received the President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia and Director of the Museum of the victims of the genocide Dejan Ristic, PhD.
