A Jubilee of the Serbian church in Birmingham, England

October 2018 - 10:43On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Church of Birmingham and 50 years since the consecration of the Church of the Holy Prince Lazarus in Birmingham, His Holiness Serbia Patriarch Irinej will officiate the solemn holy Liturgy in the magnificent church known as the Birmingham Lazarica the October 7, 2018.
His Holiness Patriarch will be concelebrated by hierarchs of several Orthodox Churches: Archbishop of Great Britain Grigorius, Romanian Archbishop Mark, Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and the Bishops Dositej of Britain-Scandinavia and Arsenije of Nis (Serbia) as well as by Andrej of Austria-Switzerland.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej will consecrate the church of St. Sava of Serbia in Gaborone, Botswana, on October 27th, and thereupon he is to participate in the celebration of the Greek National day in Cape Town, South African Republic, and celebrate the Divine Liturgy with local hierarchs on the 28th October. The Serbian Patriarch will preside over the celebration of the 40th anniversary of St. Thomas Church in Johannesburg on the 4th of November, 2o018. The Patriarch will be accompanied by Hs Grace Jovan, Bishop of Sumadia, archpriest-stavrophor Dragi Veskovac, hieromonok Dr. Amvrosije (Vesis) and hypo-deacon Vladimir Jelic.
The Serbian Patriarch in Mount Athos
2. October 2018 - 12:40His Holiness Irinej, Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church arrived in Mount Athos on October 1, 2018.
Arriving to the Mount Athos, Patriarch Irinej first visited Karyes, where the members of the Sacred Epistasia, as well as the Governor of the Holy Mountain Konstantinos Dimca, welcomed him solemnly. After the Doxology in the Protaton church, a formal reception was given in the Protaton building. From Kareys, Patriarch Irinej went to the Sacred Serbian Royal Lavra, Monastery Chilandar, where he was welcomed by its abbot, Archimandrite Methodije and his brotherhood.
The Feast-day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem
2. October 2018 - 11:44His Beatitude Theophilos, Patriarch of Jerusalem, received in his Patriarchate residence in Jerusalem, Bishop Jovan of Pakrac-Slavonia and members of the Order of the Guardians of Christ’s Tomb on September 27, 2018.
Heading the delegation of the Serbian Order of the Guardians of the Holy Tomb, the ancient guardians of Serbian tradition and cultural heritage from Vrlika, a small town in northern Dalmatia, who venerated Christ’s Sepulcher and other sacred places in the Holy Land, His Grace Bishop Jovan celebrated Divine Liturgy in Jerusalem on the Feast-day of Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 27, 2018. The Liturgy, presided over by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem, was officiated in the Church of Resurrection of Christ, in attendance of all the pilgrims, who have come not only from Serbian lands, but from other local Orthodox Churches as well.
Saint Joseph of Timisoara – patron saint-day of the Diocese of Temisoara
2. October 2018 - 11:43On Saturday, September 29, 2018, the Diocese of Temisoara celebrated its patron Saint Ioseph of Timisoara.
The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Lord's Ascension in Timisoara was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Lukian of Budim and administrator of Temisoara, with concelebration of the clergy and hieromonks of the dioceses of Timisoara and Budim. Several church choirs from the Diocese of Timisoara contributed to the solemnity of the event. After the Holy Liturgy, all of them with the clergy and monastics, together with Bishop Lukian made a procession along the city streets.
A Centenary Anniversary of the End of the First World War Marked
1. October 2018 - 21:33Patriarch Irinej and Patriarch Bartholomew attended in Thessalonica the ceremony marking the centenary of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front and the end of the First World War.
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, accompanied by His Eminence Porfirije, Metropolitan of Zagreb-Ljubljana, made a three-day visit to Thessalonica. The occasion of this visit was the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the breakthrough of the Thessalonica Front and the end of the First World War. This jubilee was crowned by the holy Patriarchal Liturgy that was officiated together by His Holiness Bartholomew, Patriarch of Constantinople and Serbian Patriarch Irinej on the military cemetery Zejtinlik in Thessalonica.
