Patriarchal Liturgy in honor of the hundredth anniversary of the breakthrough of the Thessalonica front

On Sunday, September 30, 2018, in the church of Great Maryr Panteleimon, His Holiness Patriarch Ecumenical Bartholomew of Constantinople and His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated the Patriarchate Liturgy in honor of the 100th anniversary of the breakthrough of the Thessalonica Front and the end of the First World War.

Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch Irinej were concelebrated by Metropolitan Paul of Drama, who was the official representative of His Beatitude Jeronimus, Archbishop of Athens and the Holy Synod of the Greek Church, Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Metropolitan Jeremiah of Ancyra, Metropolitan Theolyptus of Iconia, Metropolitan Varnava of Neapolis, Archimandrite Metodije of the monastery of Hilandar.

100th Anniversary of the founding of the Ohrid Archdiocese

This year, 2018, thousand years since the founding of the Ohrid Archdiocese (1018) by the Byzantine emperor Basil II were marked.

The Orthodox canonical Church in the Republic of Macedonia, the Orthodox Ohrid Archdiocese, celebrates the jubilee. The central celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the founding of the Ohrid Archdiocese was held on 29th and 30th September in 2018 in the Stavropegial Monastery of St. John Chrysostom in Nizepolje, Bitola.

Children’s Gathering in Dobrinovina Monastery

His Grace Joanikije, Bishop of Budimlje-Niksic, visited participants of the children's gathering held in the Dobrilovina Monastery on September 30, 2018, on the feast of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope and Love and their mother Sofia.

The Holy Liturgy in this monastery was served as by the clergy of the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic. The faithful people of that region attended the holy service together with the youngest participants in the gathering from Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac and Zabljak.

On the feast of Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary, the clergy of the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Deaneries, members of the Eastern Diocesan Federation of the Circles of Serbian Sisters (CSS) and faithful came together with His Grace, our Father and Bishop Irinej to celebrate the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy and the Patronal Feast – Slava of the Eastern Diocesan Federation CSS, and the local parish CSS at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church on Raccoon Rd in Austintown, Ohio.

Steubenville celebrates Choir's 75thAnniversary

The weekend of September 8-9 will long be remembered by the parishioners of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Steubenville, Ohio as a dual celebration: the marking of their Petar Krstich Choir's 75^thAnniversary and the first canonical visit of His Grace Bishop Irinej to the parish.

A highlight of the weekend and a special joy for the choir was the presence and honoring of the founder of the choir, Protinica Miryana Trbuhovich, by His Grace, the parish, the choir, and the entire Serbian Orthodox Church.
