The President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences met with the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received the President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Vladimir S. Kostic, along with the Vice-President Ljubomir Maksimovic and Head of the the Administrative Board Bojan Bugarcic, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 28 November 2017.

The distinguished academicians expressed their gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the warm welcome during which they considered  a growing level of mutual cooperation through several concrete projects. The Serbian Patriarch Irinej thanked the esteemed guests for the visit, wishing them all the best from the Lord.

Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic received by the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received Minister of Justice of the Republic of Serbia Mrs. Nela Kuburovic with associates at the Serbian Patriarchate on 28 November 2017.

Minister Kuburovic expressed her gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for a warm welcome during which they talked about ways how to extend the current cooperation that is based primarily on the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, mutual understanding, respect and support.

The Patriarch and members of the Synod visited the Saint Sava Cathedral

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, visited the Saint Sava Cathedral in Vracar on 27 November 2017. He was accompanied by members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church: Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Bishops Justin of Zica, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla and Milutin of Valjevo

 as well as by Bishop Jovan of Sumadija and General secretary of the Holy Synod protopresbyter-staurophor Savo B. Jovic, PhD.

High distinctions for state officials of the Republic of Hungary

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, handed over to Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Hungary Mr. Zsolt Semjén and State Secretary for Religious Affairs, National Minorities and Civil Relationships Mr. Miklos Soltes the high Church distinction – Order of Holy King Milutin at the Serbian Patriarchate on 23 November 2017.

In the decision of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church it is indicated that at the proposal of His Grace Lukijan, Bishop of Budim, the high distinction of the Serbian Orthodox Church - order of Holy King Milutin is being granted to Mr. Zsolt Semjén and Miklos Soltes for their active love towards the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian people, especially shown by their selfless aid to the Diocese of Budim in Hungary.

Patron Saint-day of the Cathedral church of Holy Archangel Michael in Belgrade

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church in Belgrade on 21 November 2017, when our Holy Church celebrates the feast of Holy Archangel Michael and All the Bodiless Powers of Heaven.

The Cathedral Church celebrated its Patrons Saint-day (Slava) with the magnificent Patriarchal Liturgy; His Holiness was concelebrated by many priests of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac. The First Belgrade Choral Ensemble, which has been chanting at liturgies for a century and a half, sang responses. During the solemn slava rite, the Patriarch blessed and cut the slava loaf with members of the Djokovic family, who were hosts of the Patron Saint-day of the Cathedral.
