His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received His Excellency Elias Eliades, Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to Belgrade, in the Serbian Patriarchate on 11 October 2017.

His Excellency the Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the warm reception, during which they discussed the common challenges that the brotherly Serbian and Greek peoples have been facing. His Holiness the Patriarch thanked the distinguished guest for this visit and wished him every Divine blessing in his ministry in Serbia.

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the editor-in-chief of the Information Service of the Serbian Orthodox Church protodeacon Radomir Rakic and the head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch deacon Aleksandar Prascevic, PhD, welcomed Mr. Harold Albrecht and Mrs. Cathy Wegnatal, Canadian members of the Parliament, accompanied by associates and chairmen of the Christian non-government organizations from Canada.

His Holiness Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej received Their Eminences Metropolitans of the ancient Antiochian Patriarchate Basil (Mansura) of Arkad, Savva (Ispera) of Huran and Isak (Barakata) of Germany and Central Europe, accompanied by Archpriest Prokopy. The audience took place in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on October 10, 2017.

Their Eminences Metropolitans expressed deep gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for a fraternal reception during which they indicated that the end of the war conflicts in which many Christians and Muslims were killed in the Arab Republic of Syria is approaching.

The collection “Together through Centuries” is a work in Russian and Serbian scholars, and it was presented on 4 October 2017 at the Russian Cultural Centre in Belgrade. The event dedicated to of cultural and spiritual ties of Russia and Serbia was opened by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, who thanked for all the efforts that this Collection had been prepared and published, and reminded of the unbreakable ties of two brotherly peoples, of the same faith and the same blood.

On September 23 and 24, 2017, on 16th Sunday after Pentecost, His Grace Bishop Maxim visited both Parishes in Seattle: The Holy Protection of the Theotokos in South Park and St. Sava Parish in Issaquah.

On Saturday evening, Bishop Maxim officiated at the Great Vespers Service at the Church of Holy Protection, together with local priest Fr. Serafim Gascoigne, Fr. Zoran Aleksic from St. Sava Church, and the Diocesan Deacon Vladan Radovanovic.  After the Vespers, parishioners prepared a dinner and a warm welcome for their Bishop.

Archbishop Ieronymos II: Kosovo and Metohija are Serbian Acropolis

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, who is on a two-day visit to Greece, met with Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens and All Greece and on that occasion he thanked the Greek Orthodox Church for the support that it had been giving to the preservation of Serbian identity and Orthodoxy on Kosovo and Metohija.

Archbishop Ieronymos says that Kosovo and Metohija are “the Serbian Acropolis”, emphasizing that wherever the voice of the Greek Orthodox Church is heard, and it is heard very far and it is very influential, and consequently it will repeat that Kosovo and Metohija are Serbian and that all holy places in Kosovo and Metohija are Serbian.
