July 2017 - 11:33His Holiness Patriarch Irinej, 44th successor of Saint Sava on the primatial Throne of the Serbian Orthodox Church, has arrived in New York on 14 July 2017 en route to Chicago, where he will lead celebrations this weekend for the canonization of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville and All-America.
The AirSerbia direct flight connecting Belgrade and New York which carried Patriarch Irinej, operated by an A330 aircraft named after "Nikola Tesla," landed at JFK International Airport at 11:39 AM local time.
Glorification of St. Mardarije of Libertyville and All America

July 2017 - 9:13The upcoming celebration of the canonization and translation of the relics of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville and All-America, the first Serbian Orthodox Bishop of America and Canada, scheduled for July 14-16 at Saint Sava Monastery in Libertyville, is expected to be a Pan-Orthodox event reflecting our unity in Faith and common witness in this country, the Diocese of New Gracanica and Midwestern America announced today.
Leading the liturgical celebrations will be His Holiness Patriarch Irinej, 44th successor of Saint Sava on the holy primatial Throne of the Serbian Orthodox Church, who will be accompanied by several metropolitans and bishops of the Serbian Church, including all of the five active hierarchs of North and South America.

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarchate of Antioch to the Moscow Patriarchate, officiated at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Ss. Peter and Paul.
Patriarch Irinej Departs Belgrade for Canonization of St. Mardarije

July 2017 - 12:42His Holiness Patriarch Irinej, head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, departed Belgrade this morning and is enroute to the United States where he will preside over the sacred festivities of the canonization of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville this weekend, the Diocesan Office announced this morning.
Prior to boarding the direct AirSerbia flight to New York, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej said: "We joyously anticipate the upcoming celebration of the canonization of St. Mardarije of Libertyville, the first Serbian Orthodox bishop of America and Canada, and sharing in this great spiritual jubilee of our Church and spiritual children in America." Patriarch Irinej is accompanied by Protodeacon Dr. Damjan Bozic.
Slava of the church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Topcider

July 2017 - 12:39The church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Topcider District of Belgrade, the Endowment of Prince Milos Obrenovic, constructed in the first half of the 19th century, celebrated its Patron Saint-day (slava) on 12 July 2017. His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Toplica, elected Bishop of Nis, officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy.
The Bishop was concelebrated by clergy of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac with the presence of many faithful and representatives of the Bureau for Cooperation with the Churches and Religious Communities, and of the Armed Forces of Serbia.
