Five Orthodox temples in Croatia have been broken into during the past several days, the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) announced on Friday.

Money was stolen, but no major material damage has been done, a statement released by the SPC Eparchy (diocese) of Dalmatia said. The churches targeted in this way are located in Baljci, Stikovo, Krici, Miocix and Kanjani – in Dalmatia. The police station in Drnis has ascertained that five Orthodox temples were broken into between March 6 and 8, and found that a small amount of money was stolen, but that there was no major material damage. The same SPC diocese reported earlier this week that an Orthodox church in this area of Croatia was vandalized with fascist graffiti.

St. Gregory Palamas and the Tradition of the Fathers

"Following the Holy Fathers" ... It was usual in the Ancient Church to introduce doctrinal statements by phrases like this.

The Decree of Chalcedon opens precisely with these very words. The Seventh Ecumenical Council introduces its decision concerning the Holy Icons in a more elaborate way: "Following the Divinely inspired teaching of the Holy Fathers and the Tradition of the Catholic Church." The didaskalia of the Fathers is the formal and normative term of reference.

International Orthodox Chaplains’ Association supports chaplains of canonical Ukrainian Church

The statement of the Third International Conference of Orthodox Military Chaplains, held October 17-21, 2016 by the Orthodox Ordinariate of the Polish army in Warsaw, was published on March 8 on the site of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Synodal Department for Relations with the Armed Forces.

The statement expressed approval and support for the decision to introduce military chaplains in Ukraine, reminding that the international Orthodox community recognizes only the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, reports the Information Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The self-styled and nationalistic “Kiev Patriarchate” and “Ukrainian Autonomous Orthodox Church” are schismatic, in communion with no one.
