Serbian Patriarch meets Angelo Cardinal Scola

September 2013 - 13:44His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, met today with His Eminence Angelo Cardinal Scola, Archbishop of Milano and envoy of His Holiness Pope Francisco, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop of Belgrade Stanislav Hocevar and the official delegation for celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan in Nis.

By reminding everyone that nothing cannot be done without a prayer, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, began the rite of consecration of the Patriarchal shop at the Terazije Square. The clergy of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovac concelebrated. The choir of pupils of the Seminary “Saint Sava” in Belgrade sang responses.

SOYA meets in Canberra for the 2013 Annual General Meeting
19. September 2013 - 10:38"You are the best thing that has happened to the Church" said Bishop IRINEJ of the Serbian Orthodox Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand to the youth in attendance at the 2013 Annual General Meeting of the Serbian Orthodox Youth Association (SOYA).
SOYA, which has been in existence since May of 2008, meets annually in a different state of Australia to discuss the strategic direction of the organisation and define their goals as representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Youth of Australia and New Zealand.
Metropolitanate Day celebrated in Perth
18. September 2013 - 12:55The Metropolitanate Day celebration of the Serbian Orthodox Church for Australia and New Zealand was held in the beautiful historic building of Perth Town Hall.
The celebration was held in a very pleasant atmosphere that was immediately established by a charming young Ana Davogic, MC. The guests have enjoyed the program that exceeded all expectations and everything that the Serbian community had opportunity to offer to local public in the past.
Exhibition opened by Eleni Evangel MLA, Member for Perth
18. September 2013 - 12:50Eleni Evangel MLA has officially opened the photographic exhibition "Medieval Architectural Beauties of Serbia" at the Perth Town Hall. The exhibition is organized as part of the 2013 Metropolitanate Day celebration.
The exhibition is inspired by the medieval heritage of Serbia and includes images of churches, monasteries, fortresses, buildings and landscapes of outstanding beauty. These places are the home of many local and international events and are often the setting of fascinating tales, standing as living reminders of the historical significance of the region. The selected photographs take us on a journey of some of the most significant monuments and regions in Serbia, depicting the unique environment in which these churches, monasteries and fortresses were built. Some of them have been thriving ever since; others stand as stark reminders of the significant moments in history. The exhibition aims to show the value and beauty of religion, tradition and nature and bring them closer to the public.
