The memorial service for Patriarch Ignatius of Antioch served on Sunday, 9 December 2012, at Saint Nicholas Cathedral church in Beirut 

Officiating at the funeral service in the Cathedral of St Nicholas the Wonderworker in Beirut were His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, and His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. Taking part in the funeral service were also delegations of the Local Orthodox Churches, led by Metropolitan Nicholas of Hermopolis (Patriarchate of Alexandria), Metropolitan Benedict of Philadelphia (Patriarchate of Jerusalem), Metropolitan Stephan of Tsageri and Lentekhi (Patriarchate of Georgia), Bishop Antonije of Moravicí (Serbian Patriarchate), Archbishop Casian of Lower Danube (Romanian Patriarchate), Metropolitan Ioannis of Langadas (Greek Orthodox Church), and Bishop Irénée of Quebec (Orthodox Church in America).

Session of Organizing Committee for marking 1700th Anniversary of the Edict of Milan

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, along with Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, the President of Serbia, presided over the session of the Organizing Committee for marking th 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan. Members of the Holy Synod of Bishops Their Graces Bishops Vasilije of Srem, Irinej of Backa, Jovan of Sumadija and Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, as well as His Grace Bishop Jovan of Nis participated in the session of the Committee. 

RTS: Marking the Jubilee: Both the Celebration and the Duty 

The Organizing Committee for marking 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan, which was presided by President Tomislav Nikolic and Patriarch Irinej, decided that the celebration begin on 17 January 2013 with the concert of the Sretenje Monastery choir. The forthcoming festivities were both the celebration and the duty, President Nikolic said.

At the celebration held on 7 December in the Great hall of the church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, organized on the occasion of the completion of the work of this year's Pan-Slavic Art Forum "Golden Knight", His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the president of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, awarded the Serbian film director, screenwriter and film producer Jovan Markovic with the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

On the day when the Church of Christ devoted to Saint Alypius the Stylite, on December 9, 2012, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, served the Divine Liturgy in Belgrade's Cathedral Church. The First Singing Society sang responses and the clergy of the church concelebrated. Following the Holy Communion, Patriarch Irinej served the memorial service to Patriarch Ignatius of Antioch.

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, and with the support of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church  and the secretary of the Committee, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Lipljan; a group of pilgrims went to Kosovo and Metohia, Albania and Montenegro. The whole journey was planned and organized with the blessing of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and in cooperation with the clergy of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral.

Representatives of Traditional Churches and Religious Communities Awarded with Sretenje Order

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic delivered yesterday, on 6 December 2012, at the ceremony at the Office of the President of Serbia, the medals of Sretenje Order of the Second Degree to the representatives of the Church and religious communities in Serbia. 

This order was received by:  Very Venerable Archimandrite Jovan Radosavljevic, Very Reverend Archpresbyter of the Catholic Church Jakob Pfeifer of the Odzaci Parish of the Roman Catholic Church, Right Reverend Bishop István Csete-Szemesi of the Reformed Christian Church and honorary president of the Union of Jewish communities in Serbia Mr. Aca Singer. President Nikolic previously awarded Reis-ul-ulema Hamdija Jusufspahic with the Sretenje Order, of the First Degree, where Serbian Patriarch Irinej was present .
