Ten years suffering for Christ

In the United States of America, the internet site “Free Archbishop Jovan” (see here) which informs the English speaking public about the state persecution on religious grounds in R. Macedonia, targeted against Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid, the Bishops, clergy, monasticism and faithful people of the canonical Church in our fatherland, the Orthodox Ohrid Archbishopric, is active for several years.

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served yesterday the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the chapel of  St. Luke of Simferopol at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch attended yesterday, on June 11, 2012 on the occasion of the inauguration of the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic. The reception at the building of the Presidency of Serbia was also attended by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa and His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, vicar of Serbian Patriarch.

His Holiness Irinej accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana and members of the Holy Synod of Bishops Their Graces Bishops Vasilije of Srem, Irinej of Backa and Jovan of Sumadija on the second day of his visit, on June 8, 2012 visited President of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Ivo Josipovic and Prime Minister of Croatia Mr. Zoran Milovanovic.

After the evening service in the church of St. Sava in Zagreb where His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch was present along with the host Metropolitan Jovan and many Bishops of our Holy Church, the reception was held at the premises of the spiritual centre. Among invitees there were high representatives of the City of Zagreb led by mayor Milan Bandic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Stanislav Vukicevic, representatives of the Serbian institutions and organizations in Croatia, as well as the all who helped finishing of the construction of this magnificent church. For the great help and cooperation during the construction of the Grammar school and the spiritual centre, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch awarded Mayor of Zagreb Mr. Milan Bandic the Order of Emperor Constantine the Great.
