Patriarch Irinej meets with President of Armenia

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received yesterday on April 5, 2011 in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade Mr. Serzh Sargsyan. The reception was attended by Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, as well as His Excellency, Minister Vuk Jeremic.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch along with his Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno received in separate visits the delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran led by His Excellency Ambassador Abolghasem Delfi, as well the delegation of the Republic of Indonesia led by His Excellency Ambassador Samuel Samson.

Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates first saints canonisation in 47 years

Bulgaria's Christian Orthodox Church celebrated on Sunday canonisation its first saints in 47 years. Hundreds of worshippers packed the golden-domed Alexander Nevski cathedral in Sofia for the canonisation of the victims of the bloody crushing of an 1876 uprising against Bulgaria's Ottoman rule.

Metropolitan Hilarion completes his visit to Serbia

His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the Chairman of the Externam Church Relations, completed today his three-day visit to Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Hilarion served this morning the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy and the memorial service to Serbian Patriarch Pavle of blessed repose at Rakovica monastery.

From the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla Metropolitan Hilarion and the members of the delegation were escorted by Bishop Irinej of Backa, the member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church; Vicar Bishops Atanasije of Hvosno and Antonije of Moravica; His Excellency Alexander Konuzin, ambassador of the Russian Federation in Belgrade; as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.  

Music spectacle at Kolarac

Afrer premieres in New York, Toronto, London, Rome and Melburn, also the fans of spiritual music in the Serbian capital had an honour and a blessing last night to attend an unusual art event. The great hall of the Kolarac Endowment was a place of the Belgrade premiere of a very rare musical form -  Orthodox St Matthew Passion, which was composed by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk.   

 

Metropolitan Hilarion visits Russian Church and Ruzica church

His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the chairman of the Department of External Church Relations visited yesterday on April 1, 2011 accompanied by protopresbyter Vitaly Tarasyev, the head of the Podvorye of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade, the Russian Holy Trinity church at Tasmajdan. Also His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Ruzica church at Kalemegdan.
