Patriarch Irinej serves in the church of St. Alexander Nevski

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served today the Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts in the Belgrade's church of St. Alexander NevskiЊегова Светост Патријарх српски Г. Иринеј служио је данас Литургију Пређеосвећених Дарова у београдској цркви Свeтог Александра Невског. 

Exhibition NOT TO FORGET for the seventh time

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the seventh traditional exhibition of copies of icons and frescoes from Kosovo and Metohija was opened last night, on March 17, 2011 at the St. Sava's house of the St. Sava Memorial Cathedral on Vracar. This year the copies of the frescoes of Mother of God Ljeviska in Prizren, but also other monasteries from Kosovo and Metohija are showcased. 

President Tadic visits seat of Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic

During his stay in Montenegro, President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Boris Tadic visired on March 16, 2011, the seat of the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic.

Patriarh Irinej sends telegrams of condolence to Japanese people and the Japanese Orthodox Church

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch sent the primate of the Japanese Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Daniel, Archbishop of Tokyo and Metropolitan of All Japan, the following telegram:

Your Beatitude, regarding the catastrophic earthquake with a great number of casualties that struck Japan, we pray for You that along with your families of the suffered and all people of Japan receive our sincere and deep condolence. We pray to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who is Resurrection and Life (John 11,25) for the repose of their souls, and give comfort  to You, the families and to all brotherly people of Japan through the grief.

His Holiness also sent the telegram of condolence to His Excellency Mr. Toshio Tsunozaki, the Ambassador of Japan in Belgrade. 

Patriarch Kirill meets with president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, on 16 March 2011 at his working residence in Chisty Pereulok.

They discussed major areas of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church, especially the issues considered by the two Churches' Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue. Since its establishment in 1979 this commission has become the main platform for Orthodox-Catholic dialogue because, among other things, its work involves representatives of all the Local Orthodox Churches. The commission agreed on several documents concerning the teaching on the Sacraments and sacramental nature of the Church.

Thank God, electricity and telephone are recovering in Sendai and other sities in land of Tohoku area.
