Central Church Council holds Annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Central Church Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America was held at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago December 10-11, 2010. The host for this year's meeting was His Grace Bishop Longin in has capacity as deputy for the Administrator of the Libertyville-Chicago Metropolitanate, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, together with the clergy and church board of the Cathedral. The Central Council is composed of the diocesan bishops and clergy and lay representatives from each of the dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church in this hemisphere.

Celebration of St. Nicholas Day in Zagreb

On St. Nicholas Day, the Archbishop of Myra the Wonder-worker, Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb and Ljubljana served the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Tranfiguration of Our Lord in Zagreb.

First celebration of St. Nicholas Day in Pristina since 2004

 Priests who have come back to Pristina and who are living in this city, for the first time after March 17, 2004, in the presence of about fifty believers, in a restored church of St. Nicholas, served the Divine Liturgy on the feast day of this saint.

The Communique of The Holy Synod - 16th December 2010

Holy Synod of Bishops at the meeting held on 16th of December this year, addressed the Church and the general public, regarding the anti-church conduct of the former Bishop of Raška and Prizren, now monk Artemije, with the following statement:

Serbian Patriarch meets with Hegumen of Ivaron monastery

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej recieved today in the Serbian Patriarch High Reverend Archimandrite Vasileios, hegumen of the Iviron Monastery on Mount Athos.
