Significant jubilees of the Serbian Orthodox Church

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the unification of the provincial Churches into the Serbian Patriarchate, 90th anniversary of the activity of the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology of the University of Belgrade and 200th anniversary of the Seminary founded by Dositej Obradovic, yesterday in the chapel of St. John the Theologian at the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology of the University of Belgrade the Divine Liturgy was served by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch with the concelebration and presence of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa, Dean of the Facultz of Theology and Their Graces Bishops: retired Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, Pahomije of Vranje, Justin of Timok, Vicar Porfirije of Jegar and a great number of priests and deacons.

Seminar on Holocaust held in Novi Sad

On Tuesday, December 14, 2010, a second seminar on the Holocaust was held in the great hall of the provincial assembly in Novi Sad, organized by the Jewish Community of Novi Sad and the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Jerusalem.

Patron Saint's Day of Royal family of Karageorgevich

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine celebrated yesterday the the Royal Family Patron Saint Day of Saint Andrew the First Called in the Royal Palace in Belgrade. In the Royal chapel of St. Andrew the First Called the Divine Liturgy was served by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija and priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church. 

Monograph about Patriarch Gavrilo Dozic

His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral served yesterday the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Ressurection of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Podgorica. After the Liturgy in the crypt of the church a monograph about Patriarch Gavrilo Dozic "We live in sanctity and freedom" by the author monk Pavle (Dozic)was presented. 

Patriarch Irinej serves in the church of St. Basil on Banjica

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served on Sunday, December 12, 2010 the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of St. Basil of Ostrog on Banjica. His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served the Divine Liturgy in the monastery of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple (Vavedenje) on Senjak. 

Eight centuries old bell

The bell of eight tons, dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the monastery of Mileseva, will be casted by May next year in the Russian foundry in Yaroslavl. This was agreed on Friday during a visit of the Russian ambassador Alexander Konuzin in Serbia and the owner of the bell factory  Nikolai Shuvalov and conversation with Bishop Filaret of Milesevo in the Foundation of the Nemanjics.
