Procession from Jagodina to Monastery of Joshanica

On Saturday, Septembar 12, at 13 a solemn procession, led by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Shumadija, went from the Old Church in Jagodina to the Monastery of Joshanica on the occasion of a celebration of Patron Saint Day of the monastery chapel of the Synaxys of All Serbian Saints.

The Feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist celebrated at the Military Medical Academy

Today's feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist was solemnly celebrated with the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Chapel of St. Luke of Simferopol at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade. The liturgy was served by three hierarchs: His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Coastlands Amphilohije, His Grace Bishop Constantine of Central Europe and His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno. Seven priests and three deacons concelebrated.

A large number of physicians and medical personnel, patients and faithful attended today's liturgy to prayerfully wish a healthy recovery and God's blessing to the leader of the Serbian Orthodox Church – His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia, born on this day 95 years ago and who can currently be found in this institution for treatments. In his homily His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilohije, speaking of St. John the Baptist and Forerunner and his sufferings, mentioned Patriarch Pavle and his life which was filled with endless preseverance and stuggle, reminding his listeners also that it is not without any symbolism that the Patriarch was born 95 years ago specifically on this feastday of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist.

Crown Prince Aleksandar visits Patriarch Pavle at the MMA

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar II Karadjordjevic visited today His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.

In a short and cordial talk Crown Prince Aleksandar wished Patriarch of Serbia all good from Lord the Savior and the spiritual peace.

Archbishop Hilarion to visit Vatican soon

Head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations Archbishop Hilarion of Volokolamsk is going on a working visit to Vatican to discuss issues connected with dialogue between the two Churches.

He told it at his meeting with Dominican Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso in Moscow.

More than 70 per cent of Russians in favour of teaching Orthodox culture in schools

Almost 70 per cent of Russians are in favour of the introduction of a course titled ‘Foundations of Orthodox culture' in the country's school curriculum, this according to a survey by Levada Center conducted in 46 regions of the Russian Federation.
