Metropolitan Amfilohije serves in Trieste - 140 years of Church of St Spyridon

His Eminence Archbishop Amfilohije of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral served on Sunday on September 20 the Holy service of God in a renovated church of St Spyridon the Wonderworker in Trieste. Metropolitan Amfilohije served the Liturgy on behalf of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the SOC in an agreement withthe responsible hierarch His Grace Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb and Ljubljana,in commemoration of 140th anniversary of the consecration of this church and of more than 200 years since the first service in Church Slavonic.

Schererville Circle of Serbian sisters celebrates Krsna slava

On Sunday, September 20th, the Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Schererville, Indiana celebrated its Krsna Slava—the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God. Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Longin of the New Gracanica-Midwestern American Diocese. Our newly appointed diocesan bishop was assisted by V. Rev. Lazar Kostur, parish priest Rev. Dobrivoje V. Milunovic and Protodeacon Milovan Gogic. Responses were sung by the Bishop Stefan Lastavica Church Choir. At the conclusion of the liturgy, a Memorial Service (Parastos) was held for all the departed sisters of the Kolo followed by the cutting of the Slavski Kolac (Festal Bread). The Slava Kuma this year is Mrs. Anka Ozegovic.

Metropolitan Amfilohije at the Opening of Scientific Symposium at Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts

On behalf of His Holiness Partriarch Pavle of Serbia, His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral participated at a formal opening of the Scientific symposium at the SASA on Climatic Change at the Eve of the Second Decade of the Century.

Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy - Seminars inaugurate new year of Church School

The community of faithful at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois, inaugurated a new year of Church School classes in a fitting manner on Sunday, September 13, 2009, with a Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and prayers asking for the Lord to bless the church school children and their parents, as well as an educational seminar for the entire Cathedral community.

Rockford parish celebrates 10 year anniversary

The Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church of Rockford, Illinois festively celebrated its 10th anniversary. The weekend's events were highlighted by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy celebrated by host hierarch Bishop Longin of  New Gracanica-Midwestern America, and visiting hierarch His Grace Bishop Justin of Timok, Serbia. The hierarchs were assisted by V. Rev. Lazar Kostur and parish priest, Fr. Branislav Koncarevic, Protodeacon Milovan Gogic and Protodeacon Pavle Starcevic.
