Reception for high delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia and His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Grace Bishop Atanasije received on October 6, 2009 at the Patriarchate court in Belgrade a high delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by His Excellence Dr Mehdi Mostafavi, councilor of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the head of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Relations.

Bishop Irinej encourages Australian Government to support the Exchange Health and Pension Benefits Scheme with the Republic of Serbia 

On 2 October 2009, writing on behalf of the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Australia, His Grace Bishop Irinej encouraged Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Foreign Minister Stephen Smith to support the implementation of the Social Agreement between the Commonwealth of Australia and the Republic of Serbia, as well as the Health Agreement between the two countries. 

Visit to Patriarch Pavle of Serbia

The Orthodox Church today celebrates the Venerable Cyriacus the Anchorite. At the chapel of St Simeon the Myrrh-Gushing of the Patriarchate court the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy has been served by His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral with the concelebration of four priests and four deacons.

75 years since the death of King Aleksandar I Karadjordjevic in Marseilles

On the occasion of 75 years since the death of King Aleksandar I Karadjordjevic in Marseilles, at the Church of St George in Oplenac, on October 9, 2009, on the day of St John the Theologian , His Grace Bishop Jovan of Shumadija served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy and the memorial service with the concelebration of His Grace retired Bishop Nikolaj of Aljaska and many priests of the county of Oplenac. Prince Vladimir with his wife Brigite, Dragan Jovanovic, the president of Municipality of Topola as well as many children from the primary and high school Karadjordje and King Peter I from Topola.

Patron Saint's Day of Monastery of Mileshevo

At the monastery of Mileshevo this year there was a formal celebration of the founder's Patron Saint's Day - Holy King Vladislav. On this occasion on Tuesday, October 6 there was a feast vesper service and fervent prayer for the martyrs of Kosovo, after which there was a cultural and art program.
